Okay so on news 12, they had a story about square root day, which is today!!!
Im gonna be a math teacher, so i find this particularly intriguing, i have a fascination with numbers!!! so dont mind me if i sound like a nerd...
BUTTT square root day is when the month and day are the same digit, and their product (month x day) is equal to the year!!!!! hence being the square root of the year!
This only happens 9 times per century!!!!!
so since today is 3-3-09 its square root day!!!!!!
and guess what???? The next square root day will not occur again until.... 4-4-16!!!
so i was pretty stoked to hear that today! i never even realized that i was alive for the last 2, 2-2-04 and 1-1-01!

i heard this on the radio this morning too. there is going to be some prize for whoever gets the most ppl to celebrat the day. who knows...maybe by 2016 it will be more popular :)

yes Pi day!!!!!!! in college on pi day, it would be 'pi'e day and the math majors would bring in pie, and cupcakes n stuff...i enjoyed goin to class cuz we'd eat all day lol

LOL (not lol at u) lol because its so ok cuz i had to explain it to FH too....i jus think its weird to think of it in terms of month/day/year lol no biggie!

YAY!!!! I AM A MATH TEACHER!! We had a warm- up about it. I had the students figure out the next 5 square root days and the last five square root days (this was a little difficult since they had to go to before they and I were born 9-9-81)
