DH has been wanting to DRIVE to FL from NY for the longest time and I finally agreed.
So we're thinking of going mid march. Has anyone done this?
I'd like to space it out between two days so that we can stop at some attractions along the way. What states do you recommend?

i have done it a # of times as a kid. My mom does not fly so we always drove to our condo.. IT will be fun with FH

I used to go on family road trips to Florida all the time! I agree with Kings Dominion in Virginia - that place is a lot of fun! There's also places like Jekyll Island and Myrtle Beach, but I honestly don't know what states those are in - they might be a little further south, like South Carolina or Georgia.

FH has driven down on his own before.. and my cousins live down there so they do the drive all the time. We are going to disney for our honeymoon and since FH knows how i am with flying we thought of doing that!!!!! Sounds like a lot of fun!!

It is not bad at all!! I moved down to FL a year and a half ago and I am someone who does not like long car rides. I was squished in my car with our 2 dogs and 2 cats while FH was driving our Uhaul behind us! We made it down in 2 days....it was fun!! I cant believe how many other people on here live in FL!!

Where exactly in Florida are you driving to? That makes a difference as Florida is a lllooonnngggg state! We have made the drive quite a few times and it's not too bad. We drive to the West Palm Beach area and that's about a total of 20 hours . The worst part of the drive (traffic/congestion) is the NY to Richmond, Va area. Once you get past there, 95 is an easy drive. We leave really early to get past the DC/northern VA area before the traffic builds up. We stop and stay 1 night overnight with my family going up and down, but Smithfield, NC is about halfway there and there is a major outlet center there right off of 95. Good luck!

I did the trip my junior year of college in mid march. CT to Key West. Loved it.
savannah georgia was a great stop along the way.

I cant even count how many times I have done it. we usually drice straight thru I have mad eit in 19 hours long island to palm beach.
