budda bar is awesome for drinks..food is good but not amazing..
how about NINJA!!!? im dying to go there. its cool all these japanese samurai ninja dude come flying down from the ceiling!
Ninja is cool for the experience, and everyone gets their own room to dine in, but the food i thought was just ok, and very pricey for just ok food. You have 4 choices, one is $60 per person, the other $70, $80 and $90. Each choice has an appetizer, and entree, some more than others but if youre hungry youre gonna want the $90 choice
My vote is for Buddakan, the food is AMAZING and great atmosphere. Its my favorite place, and you can tell her its from the movie SATC, its where Carrie had her e-party.
for clubs, sorry didnt read everyones responses yet so might be repeated
Pink Elephant
Tenjune
Gansevoort
Marquee
230 5th avenue
ETA: i agree about Buddha bar, if you go just go for drinks and skip the food. The place is real nice as far as how it looks but the food i thought was eh, and i ordered chilean sea bass and it wa seriously the size of my palm and like 2 small pieces of bok choy, for $45 just for the fish i'd expect it to be a tiny bit bigger and wasnt great.

Anybody know anything about the club 'pink elephant'
Someone here said it might be good for her.
nah, he friends are party poopers and/or just plain unhelpful.
if she wants a place where celebrities go to, then Pink elephant is the place. Its a big trendy spot where many celebrities are known to go. However, just know from ahead of time that they are very strict at the door, they can be a**holes, and judgmental about what ppl wear and that sort of stuff.

Tao and Nobu are pretty trendy and known for celebrities. They are both japanese resturants, not clubs.

I agree w/the meatpacking recommendation. Any club there or along 27th street off 11th ave should work--Marquee, Home, Pink Elephant. But also these places are hard to get into and expensive (Home is the easiest to get into and no cover usually, tho). There is also the Park which is more low key but fun and upbeat.
For dinner, Spice Market, Buddakann, Markt, STK, Pastis are some places off the top of my head.
spice Market is a great suggestion for dinner!

Re: NYC Bachelorette Party Ideas
Love Ninja (but thats more fun than trendy), love 230 5th (more trendy and beautiful views). If you want a really trendy restaurant, try La Esquina-- alot of celebs are sighted there. Its different because it looks like this weird diner when you come in, and then there is a bouncer, who walks you downstairs through the kitchen, into the restaurant... be sure to call early as its hard to get reservations.
I also hear that Mangia e Bevi is fun for dinner-- you get tamborines (sp?) and get to dance on chairs and that kind of thing.
Other restaurants: Park (looks like an indoor park, turns into a club at night), Highline (really cool lounge/club downstairs where they have exercise balls for chairs and is in meetpacking), Hotel Gansevort for drinks/dancing, Uva, Blue Water Grill...
sorry if I repeated.
Good Luck!

I would recommend Stanton Social on the lower east side. They have tappas which were awesome. When I was there, there was actually a bachelorette party next to us.

Re: NYC Bachelorette Party Ideas
That idea sounds pretty solid! As for clubs, generally Meat Packing District has the highest concentration of happening and dancey clubs (Tenjune, RDV, Gunbar, Cielo, etc) on any given day of the week. As a word of caution - while alot of fun, those clubs can also be more of a hassle to get into with long lines and cover charges, not to mention the expensive drinks once you get in. I'd advise you to go with a club promoter who can help provide a smoother experience by getting you past lines for free and provide deals on drinks/bottles (often free!). I used this group nycwhiterabbit.com for one of their RDV events and found it to be great, although there are lots of other groups out there who can also help your experience. Good luck and have fun! :)

Cielo is pretty awesome for bachlorette parties...you get the full VIP package and a lot of it is just by showing it. And it's always super packed. Loved it.

Oh Pink Elephant was fun too but not the same vibe as Cielo and yeah, hard to get into which isn't the kind of atmosphere thats cool for a bachelorette party.

Keep in mind a lot of these trendy clubs may require you to buy a table/bottle service just to get in.Beauty and Essex is a nice restauarant too. It is also a lounge and has free champaigne in the ladies room. La Esquina is pretty cool, trendy upscale mexican food.
