NYC Teachers

What will it take for us to have a snow day?? I've been working in the city for almost 4 yrs and NOT ONE snow day!!! How many inches does it have to snow in order for them to have a delayed opening or snow day?? Its ridiculous and dangerous for me to be driving from LI to the city... ughhhhh

I found this on a schools main page
When there are emergency weather conditions school may be closed or have a 2 hour delayed opening (in our case, 10 am). By 6:00 am, the decision is announced on:

* the 311 information line
* the Dept. of Education website (http://www.nycenet.edu/)
* the radio - 1010 AM, 880 AM, 770 AM, 1190 AM,
1280 AM, 107.5 FM and 91.5 FM
* television - NY1, WCBS 2, WNBC 4, WNYW 5, WABC 7,
WNYE 25 and Univision 41

I am doing the same thing. Too dangerous and not worth driving 20 miles (which will probably take forever!) when there will probably be no kids anyway! It would be nice not to have to take a sick day though.

OH god I know.... I drive in too- and it takes FOREVER!!! If schools are open, there is no way I am taking off- I am going to just go slow and get there late..... I am going to save my off day for March when I am really tired and need a break.

I wonder what time he is going to make his decision.....

I feel like I am going to get my hopes up for nothing...

Cmon Snow Day
