Okay and it doesn't get any better....my mom just called and told me that my stepfather just got laid off. Real nice ...and it's how many days away from x-mas. I just love corporate america they have such wonderful hearts. I was already worried they would have a rough time with coming out here for the wedding (they live in AZ) and now this. UGH!!!

Thank you girls! And it gets even better...I just told my father about my stepdad and he told me AT&T is laying off 40-60% and for the first time he is really nervous. My dad has worked over 20 years for that company. Please tell me it has to get better!!!

On a different note..did anyone know that you can collect unemployment if you quit your job? My MOH just told me this because her friend is collecting and she just signed up for it too. I thought you only got that if you were laid off or fired. You can claim it for up to a year. Can I just tell you I love this girl but hate her too. She has the best luck. By the time i quit there do away with it.

Hope everyone is ready for the holidays!!! I'm sitting at work today, desparately trying to motivate myself

I had my facial and make-up trial on Saturday with Jackie of I Make Up You. I loved it!!!!!! We booked her on the spot for the wedding day. My mom and I also have appointments for every 6 weeks between now and the wedding for facials. If anybody needs a make-up person, I would definitely say to give her a try. I have an awesome pic of my mom & I - but it's too big, and when I used the LIW resizer, it made it kinda fuzzy I'll try to figure it out tonight when I get home.

What else is going on with you ladies????

I'm pretty ready, tonight is my night to make sure I have gifts for everyone, finish wrapping, etc. Of course I have to come to work tomorrow, but for 3 1/2 hours! UGH! How annoying... it takes me 1 1/2 to just get here!

So glad to hear about your make-up trial Karen! I responded to your other thread too! Isn't it just great to cross something else off!!!! I should go for a facial... What exactly do they do???

January 1st - Can't wait to start losing 20 pounds!

The facial was absolute heaven!!! Can't remember all the steps, but I'll try.

She starts with a cleaner and exfoliater and then steams your face for like 5 minutes. It was fabulous. Then she uses some sort of tool to clean the dirt out of your face (she pulled this dirt-thing out of my mom that was bigger than the head of a pin ). That part was a little painful, but I'm hoping in time my skin will get cleaner so that step won't take as long. After that was a mask and while it's drying you get a neck and shoulder massage. After the mask comes off you get a face massage. She then gives you a hand/arm massage and puts her hands in these toasty-warm gloves. FABULOUS!!!!! I think at one point she put some eye cream on, also. I was so relaxed I can't really remember the specifics!!! It was well worth the $$$$$$$. I haven't been pampered like that in a long time

Now reality hits again - I'm sitting here BORED! I really don't have that much to do, and who wants to start a new project when you're off the rest of the week??????

WOW that sounds AMAZING!!! I HAVE to do that!!! Would you mind FM me an idea of how much it costs? You don't have to, but I'm thinking of doing something like that for my BM's....

Talk about BORED! I get so bored at work, I find it a waste to even come in sometimes!

I'm here!!! Hope everybody had a good Xmas. Things here have been crazy!!! I haven't gotten to sleep in one day yet this vacation. People coming into town, family breakfasts, absolute madness!! FI is taking a nap right now - I have to wake him up to head back to my parents to take my Brother and SIL to the airport. Tomorrow will be my real vacation!!!!!!

Hope Santa left you guys some nice stuff!!! Got lots of wedding stuff and some stuff for the house!

Hi Ladies!1 How is everyone doing?? Hope everyone X-mas was good. We got stuck in the snowstorm. It took us 3 1/2 hrs to get back from CT. when it usually only takes 1 1/2 hrs. I got some things off my registry ( my wine glasses, everyday glasses..have been dying for those I have all mismatched glasses its so embarrising when people come over....my margarita set, new tea kettle, my wok, onion crocks and my wedding cake envelope box from lillian vernon). I was so happy!!!

What's everyone's plans for New Years? We are going to the Mediteranean Manor in Patchoque. Don't know how good it will be, but it was reasonable.

Went last Sat. and picked out our tuxes at After Hours and I have my makeup trail witn JM on the 8th. Very excited just wish I had someplace to go afterwards. Also found necklaces and earrings for BM's at Macy's sale.

Can't wait to start the Jan 1st DIET!!!

OctBride03-I know I thought we lost all the Oct Brides. I am starting on Monday, too! I just ordered from nutrisystem because WW was just not working for me right now. I think I just need to be given exactly what i can eat. Anthony is going to kill me he doesn't know that i did that and how much i spent . The funds are getting low and I'm starting to freak out if we will have enough money. I stay up at night thinking about how many things i will be able to put on the credit card. Does anyone else do this?

Who is going to the GTG? anyone? I will be there. I can't wait. I'm nervous I wont have anyone to talk to since some girls have already established bonds from the previous GTG.

I'm having panic attacks over money lately too. I think it's because it's this year! My checking account has been getting lower and lower and I haven't even paid off my credit card from Christmas shopping! I am joining WW on Monday, it has worked for me in the past, I think I am more motivated this time! Good luck on Nutrisystem! I'm not really sure what that is!

I've been away since before Chirstmas because my Grandmother had passed away. I'm glad she's not suffering anymore though. It was hard to see her like that.


Wow, I missed a lot. I'm sorry to the step dad who lost his job! Where God closes a door, he sometimes opens a window. Maybe he'll find a better paying job soon. (but 5 days before the holiday?) Ouch.


It's 2003 ladies!!! I need to get back into the groove I had before December hit me! Oct brides Diet - here we go. I saw another thread started- I guess there could be a really big one. I'm going to the gym tonight and started eating salads again today. I hope that once I start, I'll just continue going. God knows I need all the help I can get.

I have done nothing wedding wise. Oops, that's a lie, we booked the dj. We went with Spin Around Sound, and am thrilled with our decision. Seriously looking for BM dresses. I think I'll go to 39th street in the city next week though, someone wrote today that they've got a lot and will beat any

MV1003 - welcome back. So sorry about your grandmother - I understand 100% about her not suffering anymore. I really wish that the good Lord would just take my grandma to stop her suffering. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease.

My diet officially begins tomorrow when I join WW. The one by me has a bunch of Saturday morning meetings that I can attend. Wahoo!!

Haven't done much wedding-wise lately - other than the make-up trial. I did have my first Wedding nightmare about the hair and makeup people no showing
