October 03 Brides.......

Hey Ladies -

I'm forcing myself to stay organized out of pure necessity - my busy season at work is August 1 - October 15. During that time we can work like 12-15 hour days. If I leave stuff until the end, I'll be in serious trouble!! I wanted an autumn wedding, so now I'm suffering the consequences

As for my dress - I got a demetrios - strapless. I'm having the hardest time finding a photo. I HIGHLY recommend the Macy's in Manhasset (ask for Laura). I had no clue at all what I wanted and she was awesome. When I went back the 2nd time to make the purchase, she gave me 10% off - apparently I missed the trunk sale a few days before. Alterations there are capped at $175.

I used to carry the # everywhere - and I just changed pocketbooks. Sorry! I think they're open pretty late.

your dress sounds so similar to mine! i think you were at BR in massapequa the same day i was, is that right? i was so happy with the service there & found a dress immediately. i'm hoping to get my first fitting done in august since i'll be moving to jersey in june & starting a new job (hopefully!) in september. i can't wait until the gown comes in!

Do we have the same dress??? lol, I can't remember my style number for some reason I used to have it memorized!!! Anyway, I don't know if we were there the same day, I was there about a month and a half ago to order my gown! I actually found this gown originally at Bridal Couture, they told me it was one of a kind! They LIED!!! Because I searched and searched and found it at BR! Even though BR gets bad reviews sometimes, I feel totally comfortable with them!

Anyway, I went to Macy's in Manhasset for BM's gowns last night and LOVED them!! We worked with Diana who was sooooo helpful!! What's great about that place is that they have A LOT to try on. Their hours are late! Which is a huge plus for me and my girls! We're not ordering until after the holidays though. Here's a tip, I was told to hold off until January because that's when the new styles come out... Who knows??? My MOH and I fell in love with a dress already so we are probably just wasting our time waiting! haha! Anyway, sorry so long!!!

Quick bridal party question!

How many people are in your BP??? I have chosen my BP and now regretting choosing a certain person over another!!! It is making me sick!!! I'm just wondering if 9 girls is too much! Please HELP!!!

Since we are all getting married in Oct, a peak month for hurricanes in the Carribean, what are you all doing or considering for your honeymoon?? I think we're just going to chance it and go to Bahamas!

Thanks! I was thinking St. Lucia too! BUT, it's like a 7 hour flight if I don't leave on a Sunday... What day are you leaving on??? There are direct flights Sunday to Sunday from Newark to St. Lucia with Sandals, just an FYI!

Thanks for your response on my BP! I just know that the person I didn't choose SHOULD'VE been one of the FIRST!!! I am such a jerk! This has been bothering me for 4 months already! She had already told a mutual friend that she wouldn't accept if I asked her now. I think I should explain to her that I was a big big dumb jerk and really WANT her in it! Sorry to keep babbling! This just won't be good until I can make everyone happy INCLUDING myself

Oct03bride- so glad to hear Macy's was a hit!
I think you should have whoever you want in your BP. I have 4, but that's all I wanted. My cousin had 7, of which 2 she regretted in the end. My other friend- don't faint- had 18!!!!!! Wow, I still don't know how she pulled that off. So, if you really want to ask your friend, I think she'd be honored!

We were thinking of Hawaii, but due to budget constraints, we're looking into Aruba. It's outside the hurricane border. We're also thinking of after 7 days in Aruba taking a cruise for another week??? We'll see. I want to investigate that after the holidays.

We booked our video last night!!! Candlelite video- so excited!!! Probably booking the dj next week. Then I'll be done w/ the big things and can move on to the little fun details

YAY!!! Doesn't it feel great to cross another thing off??? I guess Burke Entertainment didn't go well? I CAN'T wait until I can get to the fun stuff!!!

I was thinking Aruba too, but we REALLY wanted to stay at Sandals! They should have one in ARUBA!! Aruba's weather is perfect all the time!

And all I have to say is WOW to 18 BM's!!! I give that bride credit!!! I'll keep you girls posted as to what happens with my situation, I really need to do this before we both end up forgetting about this Friendship altogether. Me because I feel bad and keep avoiding her and her because she's terribly hurt I'm a bad friend!

We are leaving on a Tuesday because we wanted a day to rest. My friend didn't get to sleep till 4 am on her wedding night and then the limo was coming at 8 to bring them to the airport. There is no way I wanted to do that. Thanks for the info on Newark but our wedding is on sunday so that's not possible. Are you sure it's 7 hours? That ****s! I'm sure it will be worth it when we get there!

I really think you should talk to your friend. I think see will accept. She was probably just 'saving face' to the other girl. If she doesn't well then at least you tried and did what was in your heart and then it's her problem.

As for St. Lucia, good idea taking a day of rest! As for the flight length, I went to orbitz.com, just to see and the flights to St. Lucia have a stop over in San Juan... That's the only hold up... I don't think it's a big deal!!! You'll be so excited!! My wedding is a Sunday too! I'm kinda regretting not having it on a Friday though, I think that makes honeymoon planning that much easier!

PS - St. Lucia is supposed to be GORGEOUS!! Lucky you!

Did you look into a Hawaiian cruise?? That's what we are doing. Hawaii by land was way too much for our budget.

Octbride03- We actually really liked Burke Entertainment. We're metting w/ Glen from GIT on Monday, so we'll see. Turns out that a guy FH works w/ knows Glen, used to dj for him (did I tell you that already?) so- he's calling him on our behalf

I know- 18! I would've passed out asking everyone. I'm sorry to hear that your BP situation is a little unsettled. I feel that, if this girl is your friend- no matter what under any circumstances, you won't have to offer her an explanation as to why you waited till now to ask her. She'd just be honored that you did ask and make it simple for you by just saying yes. I only asked my 4th friend yesterday due to time differences of her living in California etc.. but, time isn't an issue. That's just my personal take on a situation like that. I'm sure it'll all work out! Don't stress about it, and don't chicken out from talking to her. I think you'll feel much better after talking to her.

Thank you! UNFORTUNATELY she already knows who my bridal party is... In the beginning I thought it would be best for everyone to know rather than people figuring it out However, I will tell you this... She told me before I was even choosing a BP, not to worry about her, blah blah blah... So because I was having a hard time already, I took what she said seriously, but had always regretted it! UGH! This is so frustrating! Can stress cause a toothache, because now I think I have one!

Octbride03- just wondering if you spoke to your friend? Did that allwork out? I hope you only have good news!

Going to see Glen tonight- totally excited and can't wait to have that checked off my list!
