Hey ladies,
This is for all of us Westchester Brides out there (any anyone else looking for info or ideas of course). I love LIW and have gotten a TON of great ideas on here, but it may be helpful for us to have our own thread so we can share local vendors, places, ideas. I'll start w/my info and what I'm still looking for that would be great if it's local to Westchester.

Yay!!! I was waiting patiently for everyone to post. I was getting so sad as I saw it move towards the bottom. Jessica, we're both using CP White Plains....this is such good info. Are you working w/Alba? I'm really POd about this whole $2 a bag situation for my OOT bags, are you getting charged this as well?

I'm not working with anyone just yet- but I met with a few contacts at my food tasting. I have her name at home. They were very nice.

Well if you do end up choosing them, they've been really great to work with. Have her take you on a tour and show you the rooms. Their rooms include a 'sleep package'. All of them have one of those machines on the nightstand that play soothing white noise and nature sounds to help you sleep. And they include a little thing of lavendar water to spray on the pillowcases, it's supposed to help you sleep better as well. There was something else on the bed as well but I forget what.

We're also using their shuttle for our guest to take them to the reception and pick them up afterwards and will be using the bar for a little after-party that night.

I doubt we're doing one of the after-party menus. If so, that will be a total last minute decision based on how much cash we have in the weeks before (which I'm assuming will be none).

Here's my thing about the bags. I don't want them delivered to the rooms, I just want them to hold them behind the desk (like I'ves seen at every other hotel I check in for a wedding) and just hand them to people as they check in. I need to ask about that, because if they can do that (and I see NO reason why they can't since again, I've seen it everywhere else) then I definitely don't expect that I should be charged $2 a bag to just hand a bag to someone. That's robbery.

Yeah, we'll just be using the bar area. Did you see the lounge area? It's huge! We are getting a room for ourselves the night of. We did book one of the suites, the smaller one, but we may cancel it and just get a regular one if we're short on $$. But, our lady said to book it anyway to hold just in case we do decide we want it and then it's already booked. There'll always be a regular room available if we change our minds.

We're also doing breakfast the next morning for whoever wants it, but not in a private room. We'll just use their restaurant (they have a breakfast buffet) and pick up everyone's tab.

Hey Clara! That would be great if you find any restaurants you'd recommend for a RD. I live in Queens too, Astoria. I haven't decided whether I'm getting ready yet though at my apt or at the hotel, I think that's my delay in picking a hair/mu person. Just in case you're interested, my DJ is based on LI, FM Entertaiment, but they travel to Westchester at no extra cost.

You are lucky- you get to get your hair done in Queens- more variety and less expensive. I'm originally from Queens but now live a bit north of Westchester- I would love to get my hair done there but it will be too far that day.

Both my hair and make-up girls are coming to me!! Veronica has done my hair for EVERY occasion, weddings, parties, holidays, etc! She is awesome. Denise has worked at MAC for years, plus she is a good friends of mine, now she does freelance work in addition to working at the counter in Nordstroms!! She is also amazing!

Veronica is from Yonkers and Denise is from Eastchester.
