So many other RH's have their own threads... I searched but couldn't find one for the Woodlands... are there even enough of us on here to have an official Woodlands thread???
I decided to add the list of 2010 Woodlands Brides... there aren't many of us!!!
I just called there and my new contact I want to say is named Sally. I talked to the manager. Did you all hear the delano is closed? That sent my step mom into a tizzy that the entire place was closing- but I talked the manager and he said that they are turning the upstairs into smaller catering areas because the restaurant only made money on Saturdays.
I did not hear about this!! I am glad to know that nothing crazy is going on!

I just had a heart attack when I read this bc I thought that ment there would be another event going on upstairs during my wedding! So I just called like the crazy person I am but they assured me that during weddings you will always be the only event.

Wait so you mean to tell me that by the time my wedding rolls around there could be a second something going on upstairs?????? This place just keeps ticking me off....

I am going to there tonight for Vday. I will try to investigate. I had also heard this about the restaurant. My parents had tried to make a reservation at the Delano for last night and they told them they weren't open because they would be preparing for tonight's Vday dinner event. My parents are super worried because who would close on the Sat night before Vday.
I really don't want a smaller event going on during my wedding! That is not why we picked the Woodlands!!!!!
Also does anyone know if Melanie is coming back? I don't even know who I'm working with now!

remember though girls - the restaurant itself would have been open during your weddings anyway so it's really not anything to panic over. i can't remember who posted this but someone specifically wrote on here that they called about this concern and was told that when it's your wedding, it will be the only event going on.

small vent: My step mom was saying to me on the phone after she made it seem like it was closing and not to send any more payment (she can be dramatic- and this is NOT THE CASE) she made a joke like, 'Oh you just sent out the save the dates too! And I was going to go to the store to get my dress today, but now maybe not I might be looking for a winter wedding' I literally almost passed out.

So the Vday dinner there was very good. It was upstairs in the restaurant--even though when I made my reservation they said it would be downstairs. The food was very good--I had the pear salad, which I think is one of the options for the appetizer for the wedding dinner. I also had filet mignon and FH had the salmon, which he said was a little fishy but still good. The place wasn't very crowded though.
I asked our waiter what was going on with the Delano. He confirmed that the restaurant was going to be closing and turned into a space for smaller affairs such as epartys and showers, etc. I asked point blank if any affair would be going on during the weddings and he didnt' say no. He just said that if anything was going on it wouldn't interfer with the weddings. I guess this is no different than if the restaurant was still open though. The upstairs has its own bathrooms, bar, and kitchen they told me.
Also, March 21st is def official for the the next showcase. We spoke with Joe (?) that manager and he said they were printing up the invites for the showcase soon. He also said that tastings were now going to be down like 9-10 weeks before your wedding instead of like 4-6 weeks like they were previously done.
oh and after our dinner FH and I snuck into the ballroom!!! It was pitch black except for the lights coming from the outside golf course. I'm still totally in love with it. I remember someone saying that they did the dance floor over and it def looked a little bit bigger! I'm so excited to have my wedding there!!

ok i just looked through the papers i had from when i booked....it says choice of custom napkin color so i guess its just napkins not other linens..

I am keeping a list and when I get closer to my date so help me god if they don't honor the things Nicole and I discussed!!!! Any time I was actually able to get in touch with Helen she seemed annoyed that my wedding was so far off and I was calling and asking questions...
I still haven't mentioned the whole paying to bring people to the tasting thing to FH, he'll flip if they don't let us bring at least my parents.

I think the it's ivory or white - extra for different color linens. I've just sent an email to Raquel, rather than Helen - since she doesn't email me back :X
