So many other RH's have their own threads... I searched but couldn't find one for the Woodlands... are there even enough of us on here to have an official Woodlands thread???
I decided to add the list of 2010 Woodlands Brides... there aren't many of us!!!
no shes not. we talked to Joe last week and he said he couldnt say for certain when Melanie would be back or if she would be back at all. She is really enjoying motherhood and has extended her maternity leave a few times... who knows if she will come back at all
Wow! I can't believe that. I'm sort of disappointed. I would have booked The Woodlands regardless but Melanie was so wonderful to work with it was an added bonus. I've tried speaking with Helen twice and it's just not the same.
I went last weekend...going back to the Woodlands just reminded me how much I fell in love with the location. I cannot wait. I spoke to Helen - they will be honoring the up to 6 guest for the food tasting but going forward they will not, as long as the BM said that, you are good. Anyone doing luminaries? I'm thinking of doing them for the garden in the evening - I want to have that glowing effect - I think it would be beautiful - but buying sand is PRICEY! any ideas? Oh yea, just to mention you should definitely have candles on the staircase - it was absolutely beautiful! Anything you girls wanna share? What are you girls working on now?

Where are you planning to the your luminaries? That would look nice in the winter as well. Just not sure where I would get the sand. FH wanted to book wood pieces in the bags. You think I could use regular brown bags? Is there a special coating on the bags? You should get your STDs at MagnetStreet.com (I think that's the website) I got mine there and Love them! There are coupons or codes online as well. You customize a lot on them. They arrive in good time. We're planning on perhaps doing an after party at the hotel - in our room (or in the room we rented for our guests) Since FH & I aren't staying overnight since we can't fall asleep or we'll miss our 6am flight the next morning on our Honeymoon! So we are planning on having an after party there probably with an ajoining room so we will bring drinks and snacks and such. Florist - using Flowers by Gina she's located in Fresh Meadows - she works from home, you should definitely give her a call if your'e on a budget and she'll give you a sample when you guys meet as long as you have an idea what type of flowers you want! FM if you need any other help! Did you figure your invites yet?

I went by yesterday to drop off a payment and met Sally for the first time. She pretty much said in so many words that Melanie won't be back and she will be my new BM. I also really like working with melanie, but Sally seems really enthusiastic about her job and I'm not worried about the switch. I got a chance to walk into the ballroom by myself and it's so pretty!
I will be going to the showcase with a crew also! FH hasn't been able to attend one before because they have been on weekdays. I think im bringin FH, parents, FILs and maybe my sister. haha oh well we will be supporting Island Harvest!

we booked all our major vendors the first three months in. we haven't figured out a place for the rehearsal dinner - where are you having yours and how many people is attending? are you diy invites? where did you get yours? i got mine from michaels - just trying to make them 'prettier' - but will need to finalize them before april ends!

I'm having my RD at Steve's piccola Bussula in Syosset. It's near the train. The room holds up to 60 people (thats tight though)

Ooo Thanks!!!! I don't remember seeing any example cakes so I guess I always assumed the Woodlands will make whatever style you want.. Hmm.. I need to find this out.
