I am not doing:
No alcohol
Wow, no alcohol?
FH and I don't drink. It is a christian wedding and the majority of my guest don't drink.
ok, makes sense. Are you having a cash bar for the guests that do drink or completely no alcohol. Are you doing champagne or you're toating with something else.
most of my friends don't drink, but i'm still having alcohol.
No cash bar (I think that's tacky). It is completely no alcohol. We will toast with sparkling apple cider.

We are having our first dance, but FFIL is a pastor, but u can't stop people from dancing. I personally want dancing but it's still kinda undecided.

Hi Ladies,I am new to the thread and I am getting married in April '08. Any tips about bridal boutiques where I can find a nice dress for about $1500? I have less than a year but still a lot of planning to do so any advise about anything will be much appreciated.

Hi, I'm getting married the day after you. Just wanted to say welcome to the thread.
I have visited a shop in Brooklyn, on Sheephead bay road. actually they have a few of them there, I am sure you will find something in your price range there.
What have you booked so far?

Hi! So far I have only booked the reception hall. As of now we plan to have the ceremony there too but we may decide to do it at a church. I haven't booked anything else yet. I feel so behind. I think we settled on a photographer but not 100% sure yet. Still need a DJ, florist, dres and the list goes on and on. What have you booked so far?

I got my dress from Lestan's on Flatlands in Brooklyn. It's gotten some bad reviews on this site but I have had a really good experience. I know a few other people who got their dresses from there and had good experiences as well. RK is also a good option even if you just go to look. Good luck and happy planning!

did u see a lot of ships mssg? i wanna run into the city for fleet week... but i dont think my daughter is too interested..has anyone here had to get married by a pastor or priest that isn't there own?( or fh, or u'r moms.. basically a stranger) i'm curious because my pastor's secretary has put me on his calendar but has explained that she can't gurantee him this far in advanced.. which i understand but i have booked my hall and i dont want to get married by anyone else.. i'm certainly not going to stress it for the next yr and a half but i wonder what would happen... the good news is she(pastor's secretary) said that we will hopefully be in our new building by 09.. so i'll get married in a new modern church.. that's exciting!
