i don't watch this show - but had to watch tonight b/c its Queen night. i was incredibky disappointed with all, except for Chris. love him!!!!

I was thinking the SAME thing. I was like... um...Ace... he's got on EYELINER!!
I'm not digging the girls singing tonight. Although, Pickler was the best of the ladies.

Here is my take on this. Forgive me if I come across as patronizing, but I don't know how many of these performers (or much of their audience tonight for that matter) are truly familiar with the entire body of music Queen is/was responsible for based on their ages alone.
Queen was HUGE in the 70s and 80s. I remember them vividly as I lived through both decades. Freddie Mercury had perhaps one of the most if not THE most incredible voices in all of rock, if not music in general. He was a classically trained opera singer. To have amateur singers make any attempt at this sort of body of music just isnt fair to them.
To be honest, 'making a song your own' doesnt work in this case with the exception of maybe Paris. I dont really even like her but she was the best of the lot tonight. Amazingly enough, she, the youngest contestant, was born only about a year or so before Queen released its last album. How could we expect any of them to come close!

Tonight's Top 3 for me was: Katherine Kelly (although I'm sooooo over the dumb thing) Chris (althoug in agreement with Simon, liked it, but wasn't wowed) Taylor was a very close 3rd as well.
Bottom 3: Paris - again, agreed with Simon - it was weird. Ace - horror! Elliot - ouch, brother!

I'm soooooooooooooo upset my friggin TIVO 'was unable to record American Idol b/c of no video strength'!!! ??????????? What the @$^&* does that mean??? I had a bad day at work and couldn't wait to come home and watch Idol!!!

I think you maybe have to delete some stuff? Could you have a lot of shows stored? Maybe that's what it meant.
Don't worry, they'll recap tonight. Plus, you really didn't miss much. It wasn't all that great.

I agree. I really liked Chris - but I thought the song itself was boring. Why did he pick that?
I liked Kelly - although even FH commented on her atrocious outfit and hair
I think Ace will get the boot - he was the worst.

Ace DEFINITLEY has to go. He's just so... soft Like he whispers instead of talking and the eyeliner last night, what was up with that!?! He bothers me.
It was tough last night. I'm not sure why they chose Queen. Like one of the judges said, I think it was Randy... don't judge on the song choice because most of them had no idea what they were even singing.
I'm a Chris and Taylor fan through and through.

I can't even look at Pickler-she looks so 'made up' with that hair and makeup and smushing her hair all over her head?! Ugh
Katherine was off key the entire song.
AI is starting to lose it's luster for me this season. I don't like all these theme nights. These guys should not be singing Queen.

I really like Paris and Chris was ok. I think ACE def. needs to go home. Then probably Bucky and I'm getting a little sick of Taylor, I thought he was really bad last night
