Hi Ladies, I want to start this thread so we can talk about DeSeversky and share thoughts and ideas. I know there are 2 others getting married at DeSeversky so far.

Here are some pics from the wedding. Lets see if I can put them up.
So here are a few non professional pics - you can see that it was raining so I hade the ceremony inside. This place photographed amazingly and my professional pics look sureal.

You look beautiful. Pics are gorgeous. How was the food? Did you eat dinner in the ballroom or the other room???

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
I recently (11/25) had my wedding at DeSeversky. I just wanted to let everyone know that the wedding was fabulous. In case you did not know, DeSeversky is under new management, and the new general manager, Anthony, was absolutely wonderful. I was very concerned we would have issues, especially with all the comments regarding the hall on this site. I myself had some serious issues with Deb, being non-responsive etc. But once Anthony became involved, everything was perfect. I don't have one complaint about DeSeversky (and I really thought I would, with my experience with Deb)! I wanted to let all future DeSeversky brides know that you are in great hands with the new management!!!

Are we really not allowed candles? Also, what room did you dine in and how was the food? Congratulations! Glad the wedding was wonderful.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
Unless things have changed...you CAN have candles, they just have to be contained...like votives in a little votive holder...no open exposed flame is that they are avoiding. Check your contract or double check with management in case that's changed.
For our wedding (May 27, 2006) we had dinner in the ballroom. It was amazing - everything was...except the Tilapia...don't do the Tilapia. Figures...it was Debbie's recommendation!
We also offered a wild mushroom risotto for the vegetarians that was out-of-this world and a chicken/beef combo that got rave revues. All the cocktail hour food was impressive and tasty...

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
Up until your posting, I didn't know there was new management. Do you have contact info. for Anthony? Debbie said no candles under any circumstances, only electric. I'm so bummed! I'd love to see pictures if you have them! I'm supposed to be doing dinner in the other room and dancing in the ballroom, but the other room isn't as pretty and the rug seems dirty. How many people did you have?

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
We had a small-ish group - 120 - so dinner/dancing in the ballroom was no problem. I agree that the dining room is not great looking.
Here's a link to our photos from our wedding at DeSeversky:
Thanks for the pictures. You look beautiful and the wedding pics were great. Anyone have pictures from the other dining room or the greenhouse? Also, would love to get Anthony's contact info...

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
We had dinner in the dining room and garden room and dancing in the ballroom. While the dining room isn't as nice as the other rooms, it ended up looking very nice with our votives and flowers.
I too have spoken to Anthony after we got married. He seems more together, but I think Debbie still works there. Boy am I glad I never have to talk to her again.
I am also writing to let people know about a bad experience I just had at Cassarino Photography. I was compeletely deceived and there were MANY MANY MANY hidden costs with our package. When I went to do my album, I ended up paying way more than what I had signed up for.
For example, I was told that to put some of our black and white photos in our album, it would be 25 dollars a photo!!! No where is this EVER EVER mentioned. I got it for a lower price, but I am still very upset. Also, we had to pay extras for things like engraving on the album. I don't know if that is the norm, but it seemed odd. So be very weary of using them!!!!!

They do not allow candles, unless they are batteries. I talked to Management before and it was on the contract.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
I believe the new contracts do not allow for candles, I was told it had something to do with their insurance.. I had candles for my centerpieces, and on the main table in the foyer. They were covered in hurricanes, so he had no problem with that. But it did not state I could not in my contract...
I had about 105 people, and everything was in the main ballroom. I have to tell you, it was decorated so lovely for the holidays, so many people told me they have never seen a ballroom so pretty. I'll post pics as I get them.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
Oh if you could post pics that would be great. I'm getting married there on 12/29 and I didn't have a chance to see what it looked like for the holidays. I'm so excited.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
I'd love to see pictures from a wedding where dinner was not in the ballroom. We may have too many people, and I'd like to see how th dining room and garden room (with the glass ceiling) look. THanks!
