Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

For the newlyweds, did you preserve your dress? I will clean mine but thought I may want to try it on again for the heck of it. I don't mind if it yellows over the years but I don't want moths eating it. Think a vacuum sealed bag would do the trick?

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

Hmmm...Thomas threw in my chair covers with my package...guess i never thought to ask if they were white or not, guess i just assumed. We're going to be doing black linens with white/ivory chair covers and black linen sashes for the chairs. Guess I better double check with Thomas tomorrow...

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

The chair covers (which include sashes) were included in my package.

If you get full tablecloths in a different color, they'll charge an additional fee. However, i think they have a million different colors for the table overlays, which we're doing in black which are inlcuded i think in everyone's package.

I also confirmed that the chair covers are ivory, so our table cloths will be ivory as well (it'll be dark with uplighting so it doesn't really matter ivory or white.)

Thomas also let me know that there are two different sized round tables: 60' and 72'. The 72' can hold 12 people comfortably!!!!

I actually took a pic of the swatch of table linen colors only that I didn't capture ALL as I zoomed into the colors I was interested in. Ask your BM. He'll show you the swatch. Here's what it will look like. See pic below.

They could be still on their honeymoon or winding down from it. It was last Friday I believe? I am getting my pro photos soon. Am waiting for those before I do a review.

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

we finally decided on our cake. We are doing a chocolate cake with chocolate moose with fresh strawberries ( I am addicted to chocolate) We decided to go with a buttercream icing because when I asked about using fondant they told me it was going to be 600.00 extra!!!

It is still blowing my mind that we are 18 days away from the wedding!! Insane!

Our anniverysary was AMAZING!

We went for lunch then went bowling (its what we did on our first date), then we went to an arcade where they had a game/machine where you can make your own CD so I recorded DH a a love song, we went to dinner at a restarant overlooking the tappan zee bridge, then we ate our top tier of our cake. It was soooo good!!!!!! I cannot believe I ate 1 yr old cake and it was delicious!

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

our cake was raspberry filling with ever other tier being chocolate or vanilla/white cake. The bottom tier was choclate so thats the one we had day of and then top tier was chocolate so thats the one we had again. I never tried the vanilla but people said it was good.
