. Just make sure you don't choose the really thin, oblong tables. They look terrible in my opinion.
Maybe narrow is a better word. I took a pic from the bridal suite when there wasn't a wedding going on and saw different sized tables and how they set it up. It seemed fine. Hope the pics help.

Thanks for the responses. I tried calling DM today but Thomas is on vacation until Wednesday. Hopefully, I will have an answer to the mystery by then.

That is a great wedding photo. I see you got married in October. The brown table clothes with the Orange/Autumn centerpieces look great!

I loved that look too...darker tablecloths with chaircovers and sashes.I'm going to be doing black linens with white chair covers and black bows. Centerpieces will be red with red rose petals! Can't wait!
But I need a suggestion...being that our colors are black and white with a bit of red, what color should I do for uplighting? I saw that AugustBride used pink which looked beautiful, but i don't know what color I should do? Maybe red or yellow amber?
PS tomorrow we have our engagement pictures with J'Adore!!!!!

We are going with La Quinta and the Hyatt Place (our block got filled at La Quinta so we needed more rooms). At La Quinta the bar stays open until 2 am. We were quotes $149 at both places.
Can anyone that used the La Quinta for their room block give me an idea of the bar area and how they treated you after your wedding for the afterparty???
Thanks!!

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~
OK. Feeling bored and like I want to start on my wedding review. I don't have that many pro pics yet though.Everything about my wedding day worked out really great so I feel the need to write about what I'd do different so this info can help others. Never helped plan anyone's wedding before either.
If I could add an extra hour to my reception, I would do it. Just as I was done talking with guests and going thru all the cake cutting and other standard dances, I started to get into it and the last song came on! It also goes by sooooo fast. An extra hour would have done the trick.
Also, my bustle clasp broke which I hear is common, so I was holding my train half the night. My BM's were drinking and not hearing my plea for help! :) I changed to flatter shoes so I was tripping on my dress too. I def recommend a comfortable, reception dress for the last two hours or so.
OK. That;s all I have for now.

I especially liked the opening of your review thanking LIWeddings.com and for keeping perspective during the stressful planning moments.
Alvina Valenta (Jim Hjelm dresses) were my favorite next to Lazaro. Can't wait for my DM photos. Chris was my BM and did a great job too.
Great colors. If I had a Fall wedding, I would have chosen a similar color pallette.
Beautiful wedding and review! Thanks for sharing that with us.

FYI - Talked to Thomas yesterday, they do have 72 inch tables that can easily accommodate 12 people. Hope this helps

Holy Cow! Just realized you're getting married in less than 2 weeks! Enjoy this moment. It's down to the wire and there's lot to finish and running around so think of that to ease the stress. This is the last time you'll do this, hopefully, and then you'll be on here like some of the rest of us wishing we can do it again! :)
Best of Luck

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~
DM Brides... Quick question...I spoke with Anthony at the Douglaston about the chair covers and table linens yesterday and he said that the ones they include with my package are ivory chair covers and white table linens... Why not both Ivory or White... Did anyone else run into this with them? And if so, how did you handle it?
Also, is anyone else working with Anthony???

I used the white table linens and had an outside company come in with white chaircovers.
