Are there enough of us to have our own official Inn at NHP thread? I feel like we should have one . . . thoughts?

Hi Ladies..I'm so excited that there is an 'Inn' thread!! I was just there tonight to drop off a payment and I had to walk around...it is soo beautiful inside!
Question..I'm debating whether to have my CH outside (if it's nice weather!!) or upstairs in the Tuscany room...The tuscany room is soo amazing and I would hate for my guests not to see it..however my #1 priority was for my reception hall to have an outdoor area for CH.....What did you ladies decide?
We're definitely doing the Tuscany room...I just fell in love with it...I was told that there could still be tables put out so if people wanted to hang out outside they could...so I guess it's kind of like the best of both worlds...

Hey girls! 09er crashing! I just had my wedding at the Inn a few weeks ago. I worked with Linda and she was great.
Bathroom Baskets - You can provide your own, but the ladies room had one provided by the Inn.
Cocktail Hour - I would say the Tuscany room. It was beautiful and all my guests raved about it. As soon as I have some pro pics I will post what the room looks like.
Inn Bed and Breakfast - Not sure if you all know, but the Inn has a B&B down the block for the bride and groom. We stayed there, but I wouldn't recommend it. I think I would have been happier in a hotel.
Our church was 3:00 in College Point (Queens) and our CH started at 7:00. We took all of our pics at the Inn. We had terrible weather. Most of our guests got there around 6:30 but the CH was already set up, so it was great.
Dinner - We traded the striped bass for a stuffed veal chop and we are so happy we did. The guests that had the veal couldn't stop talking about it!
Cake - The cake is done by Buttercooky bakery on Jericho. The cake was good, but the cake tasting is not exactly what I had imagined. Be specific about what you want to taste and how you want to taste each one separately. We wanted to try 4 fillings, and they gave us 2 cubes (literally smaller than bite sized) pieces, that each had 2 of the fillings. It was impossible to taste the differences.
Let me know if you have any other questions I can help with!!! The Inn is a great choice! I am so happy that we picked it.

Thanks for all this info!!! I didn't know we could use Buttercooky (my favorite bakery, btw) I thought we had to use Reisterers? Either way I'm ok with that! Also good to know about the bathroom baskets. Did you (or is anyone planning on doing) the wine upgrades? I don't think we are . . .
Jayla, I think I have pictures of the Tuscany room on my wedding website - FM me if you want the site!!
ETA: We are definitely planning our CH for the Tuscany room. It's just so beautiful and in June, I'd rather be completely comfortable in air conditioning than have to worry about weather, bugs, etc.

Yay! There are quite a few of us! My name is Carla btw and I am getting married at the Inn on 6/25!! Which bms is everyone working with?
I haven't heard anything about any upcoming showcases but they do usually have them around this time of year, right?
The showcase is 2/17 from 6:30-9:30. We should make it a mini GTG!
Has anyone had their tasting yet?
I didn't hear about this showcase - did they do a mailing for it? I'm in!!
I did have my tasting before we officially booked and everything was out of this world! it's going to be hard to pick a menu!
We are debating about adding the seafood bar to the CH - is anyone doing this / know how much it costs?
We're doing the seafood bar...I'll FM you
Thanks for the FM - that's a lot. There is so much food already included, I don't know if its worth it for us.

Wow! I think things have definitely changed since we booked. Anyone know when that 'pizza oven' in the Tuscany room is going to be finished? That was one of the things they promised us before booking - that it would be up and running by our date! I haven't seen any progress on that yet though. . .

I was there on Monday and it doesn't look like they've made too much progress on it.

I agree about the Tuscan room, definitely plan on having my CH there, we were blown away when we saw it! Also, you guys are right if someone wants to go outside and have a drink or smoke, the Inn will set up small tables, so technically you get the best of both worlds.
I am having my ceremony at the Inn as well and cannot decide whether to do the 90 minute cocktail hour or the extended reception. What are you girls doing?
I don't want to see my FH beforehand to take pics so I was thinking of doing the longer CH, but I don't want my guests to get restless However, I want to make sure there is enough time for eveything and don't want to be rushed.
My parents and FH want the longer reception, and since we are not traveling anywhere in between the ceremony and reception that will save time...
Ugh, help!! Thanks! :)

I think the longer CH!
Seriously at most weddings the CH food is the best anyway. Also the Inn has plenty of seating for all the guests. I usually only get annoyed at CH when i have nowhere to sit. PLUS the place is so huge people can enjoy the grounds and the lobby, especially if you have lots of pictures set up.

Which hotel are you using and what are the rates?

We are using the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale and our rates are $159 per night. We priced other hotels in the area and they were around the same or a little more, but we loved that this hotel has a huge lobby, bar area and restaurant where we can have an after party.

We are definitely doing the 90 min CH esp since we aren't having our ceremony there - that way we can use 30 mins to finish up taking pictures if we have to and still get a full hour with our guests! I heard they really give you a full spread inthe bridal suite though too!!

Yes, our cake was provided by Reisters. Perhaps they work with several bakeries. Our cake was good. It didn't matter to us because we had the VH too.

It's in one of the 'storefronts' in the Tuscany room. I think like the third one on the right

Hi girls!
We are getting married in November so outdoor CH is not an option but I love the Tuscany room so I would definitely use it regardless. I also didnt know about the pizza oven...
I have also heard great things about the stuffed veal chops (my aunt when there for a wedding and she said it was as big as her head, lol). So we will be replacing it with one of the entree options, maybe the duck?
We are also doing the Viennese hour in the room across from the main ballroom. Is this standard for everyone doing Viennese?
We also got the seafood boat (minus the lobster), other than those 2 upgrades we were happy with the Inns standard package.
