Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

i mean absolutly no disrespect by this

How much has everyone aloted for favors??
i know that most brides are doing an ice scream scoop/coasters things like that(those are some great favors)
i know how my family is and i don't know if anyone has the same kind of family.. but if they were given something liek that as a favor i think we would be the talk of the family.

so where is everyone looking but not spending a fortune?? or are you spending a fortune???

Santina...I danced with my father to Loretta Mia, but my band changed it to 'Rosaria Mia'..

We had the seafood boat during CH, we also had tripe during CH, a fll Vianesse Hour, we had an Italian/American Band 'The Strings' they are AMAZING so they played all tons of Italian music, slow and fast songs! The Strings are actually cousins with the members of 'Voices' (Angelo Venuto is the singer of that group)
I would say we had a very traditional Italian wedding. Iam 1st generation and my parents along with all my aunts and uncles were born in Italy.

Oh,, the day of the wedding, we had Jordan almonds displayed throughout the house. OUr favors were 2 cup espresso pot along with 2 demi tesse cups. WE incorporated our culture throughout the entire day and evening.

ETA: Italian families are FUN and proud and they make the parties that much better....

what other things did you do if you don't mind me asing????

You can do 2 demi-tesse cups with the demi-tesse spoons for probably under 10.00

This is what Im doing. The favor store that im using also had the set w/6 cups, but it was $12.50 each.

Vivo Per Lei has always been my favorite. My cousin danced with his mom to this song.

Con to partido by andrea bocelli and celine dion is a beautiful song, or the Prayer by them as well..... The Prayer is an absolutely gorgeous song that has both italian and english verses in it.

wow.. thats awsome..I'm with Santina on this one.. i think i might mention it to my BM as well..

but how are they making it, with sauce???

I think it's with sauce, not sure. FH used to work there and he said that's how they make it. My family cooks it in wine - they are not into having it with sauce, but I think everyone will just be happy that we actually have it regardless.

ETA: Sorry Bella11 I don't know what happened to the rest of your quote!! But I agree with you 100% as a first generation Italian. My household was also more Italian than Italian American. I love this thread!

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

My family is more Italian than Italian American as well which has it's good points and bad points as you probably all know! Please keep suggesting favors, my mom gave me the look of death when I told her I want to give away full bottles of wine.

We'll be playing a mix of american, italian and spanish music since FI's family is all from PR and my whole family is from Italy. I love the multicultural feel of my wedding. Can't wait!

We'll def be playing some Eros, of course Umberto Tozzi, Bocelli and all the other singers my parents grew up with, of course Toto Cotugno!
