oh thanks!! so i guess we should try some different cakes before the wedding before deciding....so any new wedding plans?

we are booking the Crazy Dog for our RD - they have a super cute 'garden room' for small private parties. The desserts there are SO good too

If you live near Audrey's I suggest dropping by there to try their cakes. We get them all the time for people's birthday's and stuff in my household and at my office (I live nearby). They have great cakes and pastries, you can't go wrong with anything there!

I did 4 tier chocolate cake and inside each tier is a layer of raspberry filling and a layer of chocolate mousse. The outside if buttercream.

For the Groom's Cake, I think I am going to do Chocolate cake with peanut butter filling (FH's favorite). Like a giant butter cup. We'll see....

that is one of our two finalists! They had it at the showcase in 2005 - it was so good. Well at the showcase they had it with whipped cream, but we would have to do the buttercream cause the whipped cream isn't offered in the summer

I don't know much about the hotel..all I do know though one of the banquet managers did mention to me that even though they do own it, they don't recommend it right now..they are in the process of deciding what they are going to do, I guess in regards to renovating Hope this helps

Thanks!

I know that it is small (11 rooms) and they will be done with renovations in the middle of this May but I haven't heard anyone talk about it so I was curious.

That is cool! I didn't even think they used it anymore. It would be nice to stay there and then just walk across the street when ready

angel food cake - strawberry and whipped cream filling and buttercream outside.

That will be our cake except with whipped cream on the outside. FH picked it out.

I know! YUM! I wish we could get our cake (whether we went with the chocolate or the angel) with whipped cream. But I guess that would get gross in the summer - all melty

I called the hotel and the woman said they were just renovating the rooms and that they would be done this May. I think Im going to call Lands End and see what they say about it.

I wonder what it looks like inside. If it is nice that would be so tempting. Let us know!

When my friend got married at Lands End (two years ago now) they also said they were renovating and would be done that summer. Personally I think it looks really shabby and think you should look into other hotel options. Even if they did renovate I don't know if I would want to stay there. JMO
