has anyone done a small wedding here? perhaps in one of the rooms in the restaurant? how was it? my wedding will probably be no more than 50 people and i am wondering how it would be with a small room in this place.

cjik and acre730 both got married at the Inn in the smaller rooms. I haven't seen a review yet from acre730 but cjik's review is linked in the first post - hopefully that will help you.

Can I be added to this thread? I am excited that there is a Milleridge thread, I didn't see one when I first joined LIW and just found it today!

Thanks so much!

I am getting married at GWM and I was told that my cake is coming from the Milleridge Bakery since they are the same owners.
How are the cakes?
Also, does the Milleridge have a 2** and a 3 *** menu? What is the differnce between the two?
Thanks!

I've heard that Milleridge Bakery's excellent and I've also read reviews about dry cake... I would make sure to have a tasting because maybe that depends on what you end up getting.

As for 2-star v. 3-star, in 3-star, you get a seafood bar, an ice sculpture, a viennese, more appetizers, an extra course, different entree selections, and a bridal attendant. Oh, and you get more flowers. Hope that helps!

Did you ladies choose the 2** or 3 *** menu?

i believe we did 2....it was PLENTY!

We're doing 3. My family's very big on viennese hours (haven't been to a family wedding without one) and FH got a kick out of the raw bar.

We did. The only thing I remember about using him was walking into the CH and seeing/hearing him play, and I thought, 'oh good, the piano player's here.' Milleridge took care of all the arrangements.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

i am 90% sure that i will be using the carriage house as my reception place. b/c my wedding is pretty small and i wanted somewhere that wasnt a small room stuck in a big catering place. the carriage house is perfect for my needs. also all the other places i have looked at require a minimum of 75 and i dont think it will be that big. i also love how the party is in that little house. it is so cute and not over elaborate like some other places i have seen. i also have been going to this restaurant since i was little and have always liked the food and the atmosphere.

there are a few concerns:
1- i dont really like the no valet thing. although i feel it doesnt really need it b/c there is plenty of room to park and you can park right by where the wedding would be, still i feel when there is a wedding there should be valet. but i do not want to hire an outside company.

2- if it rains then the cocktail hour will be in the same room as where the reception will be. have other brides that have gotten married here had this situation. i am going to have a small wedding so there will be plenty of room, but still i like seperate rooms.

3- is the cake dry? i might just go with a separate sheet cake from a bakery i love instead. i figure just so long as i say that it isnt a wedding then they wont jack up the price.

TIA

eta: the separate sheet cake wouldnt be the one i would cut in front of everyone; i would just use the cake they decorate at milleridge. no one would see the sheet cake in the back.

to answer your questions (well, that i can of them) i dont think the valet is a big deal...but to be honest i never even thought of that as being an issue.....im getting married at the cottage so i cant really answer the 2nd question...but i will say i hope for you it doesnt rain..but at least there is a good solid backup plan there if it does rain! my fh and i have not yet gone for our tasting...but i have heard RAVES from everyone and havent heard anything about the cake being dry! good luck, sorry im not more help!

I'm also not worried about the valet thing - just never crossed my mind. Now that I'm thinking about, I don't think it's been available at most of the weddings I've been to. As for the cake, I've heard mixed things - I've heard it's amazing and I've heard it's dry - honestly, I bet it depends on what you get. I'm planning to get a sample cake of what I want and try it out ahead of time to see if I like what I picked.

thanks. i am calling up 2morrow to put a hold on the carriage house and to tell her we will drop off the deposit this weekend. i think the things i am concerned about are just minor, and i probably am just being anal. i am so excited about it and feel such a relief to have the hall booked.
