Cottage, Carriage House or Inn?

I booked the Cottage ( we are looking at a wedding of about 200-225 people) . Everyone has been extremely nice to us there. They even let us do a food tasting prior to booking. We did, however, have to book that day if we liked eveything. We obviously loved it, so we booked.

Hi,
Please add me to the list. June 17, 2006 at the cottage.

I have a question about the cocktail hour.

Where was your CH musicians located?

I am having a steel drum band and hoping for nice weather, so they will be outside, but what if....... it rains? Where will they go?

Thanks!

We had a piano player. I think he was near the entrance to the CH room. I don't remember exactly where. Although we had a sunny wedding day, the Milleridge didn't set up the CH outside -- no tables on the lawn and I had to tell them to get the tables on the patio ready. For me, my BM telling me that if it's nice out the CH will be outside didn't make it so. I suggest that you ask your BM about where the CH musicians will go and be very, very, very clear about exactly what you want if it's sunny and if it's rainy.

Thank you so much for that info. I will check with BM.
I live in Los Angeles, so it is hard to figure this stuff out. I wanted to get some ideas, so when I go there in December, I can tell them what's what.
I was lucky enough to be able to attend a wedding there this past June.
I saw my BM there and she said that if I wanted to change or add anything, let her know. Lucky for me, everything was great. Except for the bathroom. I wish they would update the bathroom, but everything else is so great, I can't worry about the bathroom.

I agree about about the bathroom. It's pretty run down. Oh well!

I went to look at it yesterday. I was really dissapointed the BM was so rude. I don't think she would have been less interested in my wedding any less if she was sleeping. She just didn't care. FH and I were really dissapointed and left feeling angry instead of excited.

Oh no! That's terrible...it's all about customer service. I don't know what some people are thinking sometimes. Hope you find a place with a nice person to help you!

Really? I'm surprised. Everyone I worked with was always very helpful.

I haven't seen this thread bumped in a while, so I noticed there were some questions a while back people may not have gotten answers to.
As for the flowers, if you use another florist, the Milleridge will use the included flowers somewhere else--on the cake, or the mantle or something.

I had 85 people at the Carriage House & it was great. TP329 had 115 & was worried, but she said it worked out fine.

Prices/minimus are negotiable in the off season, but their regular prices are decent.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

That's so disappointing. Milleridge was super-nice to us on our first visit.

We saw some other halls (Windows on the Lake and Terrace on the Green stick out in my mind) that the BMs were rude and wouldn't even give us complete or accurate pricing!

It's awful we want to be treated with respect and kindness, and she was hesidant to give any information

Wow, that is so disappointing to hear. The BM we met with was so nice and helpful. She was one of the reason we decided to book there.
Good luck!
