Official Milleridge Thread!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

For the future Cottage brides --

My brother and father recently reminded me that many of our guests didn't realize that the CH was in the atrium. My father said he kept telling people at the main bar to go inside and my brother (who was in the BP) said he didn't realize the CH was in the atrium for the first 20 minutes.

I'm so embarrassed! Future Cottage brides, make sure the Milleridge staff actively directs people into the atrium.

I asked about the leftovers and was told that for health reasons they don't want to wrap up any food because it has been sitting out all day. However, I was told that we could ask to wrap up Viennese left-overs and the rest of our cake.

I did ask that because FH wanted one and got the same response. They also said that while a lot of people tend took look and think that they are cool, hardly anyone actually eats it.

So does that mean that they will do a mashed potato bar or not??

Hmm....good question. Sorry, but I think you'd have to ask again. Although I'm sure anything is always an option for $$$!

Going for my tasting Sunday!!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

We got 2 boxes of Viennese goodies, plus our cake top for us. Maybe there were 4 boxes of desserts, but my folks took 2 and my IL's took 2, but am not sure.

Don't be shy about take home or asking for anything, as you've paid a LOT for the wedding - the least you can do is ask. Good luck!

Is there dessert AND cake or just cake? Don't have my contract in front of me and just thought of it. Thanks gals!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

My tasting was awesome!! Everything tasted great!! I REALLY loved:
All the CH samples we got to try
tom and mozz app
swordfish entree
chicken wellington

I did the Viennese hour - so it is dessert and cake...not sure what the dessert is without the Viennese...sorry.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

did you get the 2 or 3 star?

i went for my tasting last week, but i am doing the 2 star. i loved the crepe florentine and the chateau briand was delicious and i dont even like red meat!

ETA: i did buy a black forest cake from them and i hate to say it it was dry. the only thing i can thing of was that it was there for a bit, b/c i didnt order it. i might try ordering a cake sometime before (the prices are pretty good) and trying it again. the whipped cream and filling were great, though!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I am doing the 3 star menu because we are dessert junkies
We decided that we would call the bakery and order some different cakes throughout the year so we can pick what we want for our wedding cake...maybe call ahead to place your order to guarantee that it is fresh...I hope it isn't dry then!!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Just wondering how some of you managed to get a tasting before booking. I spoke to one of the BM's today and I was told you have to leave a deposit first. I also asked about going to the restaurant to try the food and was told the Inn and Cottage/Carriage House have differet chefs.

Also, are they still not offering valet? Does anyone know how much it is to outsource?

Thanks!
Lisa
