We are having it at a chineese restaurant in St. James...
advice from my sister in law, who had her RD at a Chinese restaurant. If it's a night or two before the wedding, drink PLENTY of water!!! Chinese food is salty! Or just be sure to do steamed veggies and steamed chicken! Just a friendly warning for pics the next day!
Good idea!!!
my RD is at my FBIL's home in Huntington...it's a Thanksgiving Rehearsal Dinner....lots of turkey. Just having it catered....for 75 people! My ceremony is not in a church so no actual rehearsal...that's why we're doing it on Thanksgiving...need to host all our OOT guests for T-giving dinner so no need to do 2 dinners 2 nights in a row with all the same people!

I know - I'm not thrilled about it but I have no choice...Eric has a ton of OOTers coming in! It's going to be mostly all his family and then just 10 of mine...I have a small family!

WOW more power to you! Especially being able to do that 2 days before the wedding. That is great!!! And you know what, that will probably be the best Thanksgiving!!!

Yeah it should be fun! But I don't have to do a thing....FBIL is taking care of everything...we just have to write him a check for the food Real simple!

Hey girls, Where are you having your rhersal dinners? I am looking for a place .. reasonably priced.. FFIL is paying and I don't want to pick a place that's too pricey.. any ideas?
what about your hotel? Do they have a restaurant? I love that my RD is in the hotel where my guests are staying the night before the wedding. That way they can drink as much wine as they want... then go safely right upstairs to their room!
I would love that idea but my RH is a week before the wedding.. I was thinking of Milk & Sugar Cafe in Bayshore.. I love the atmosphere there, anyone ever been there before?

I love Milk & Sugar Cafe! Used to go there all the time when I lived on the south shore. Very cool place. We're still debating on whether or not to have a RD. If we did, we'd be paying for it so I'm not sure we want to spend the extra $$.

I love milk & sugar! We are leaning towards possibly the tin alley grill in garden city for our RD......i really wanted to have it at St James in Mineola, but they couldn't. we want a real laid back atmosphere/pub feel with a bar so if people come in from OOT they can meet up after dinner for some drinks. if anyone else has any suggestions in nassau, they would be much appreciated!

Don't worry I still have to do all those things too...except I have my wedding band (getting FH's this weekend hopefully) and I have a unity candle. But I still need shoes, veil, undergarments...my invites haven't even arrived yet...they should any day now though. I plan to stuff them the weekend of 9/8. I think you're doing ok...these are all pretty minor things that we have left to do - don't sweat it! It will get done!

We got our first 4 RSVPs yesterday already! 3 yeses and 1 no. My ring is ready but we're waiting for FH's to be ready too and then we'll pick them both up. I scheduled my first fitting for Sept 15, final florist appt Sept 16th....it's all coming together!
I desperately need to figure out Bridesmaid gifts though. Anyone with a different idea?
