Hi Heather...WOW that is a lot of missing RSVP's (I hope Lauren isn't one of them after the lecture I gave her - haha!)
I got my shoes at DSW...thanks for the idea to go there! I actually bought 2 pairs so I'll just see which looks better with my dress when I go this weekend for a fitting.
They are both just a slide - open toe. I'm not at all comfortable in dress shoes...I always wear an open toe dress shoe even in the winter so I just got what I'd be comfortable in. THey are pretty though...both have some beading. And they seem comfy!

Also picked up wedding bands this weekend...OH and we got our marriage license yesterday too since we were both off work. We did it on LI...took all of 15 minutes...so easy!

Feels good I can check a few things off the list!

Where did you go that it only took you 15 minutes to get your marriage license? This may sound stupid, but do you both have to be there to get it, or can I go alone? And what do I need to bring with me to get the license? TIA for your help!!!

We heard about nightmares in NYC getting your marriage license - long lines - so we did it on LI. We both live in NYC - wedding is on LI. I believe in NY state it doesn't matter where you get it. We could have gotten it in NYC or on LI. We went to Town Hall in Hempstead...there was no wait at all but I guess there could be if you went on a busy day. You do both need to be there and they are only open on weekdays during working hours so you almost have to take a day off for it. We both happened to be off on Mon so we did it then. We had to bring a photo ID (passport or drivers license) and our original birth certificate.

So how's everyone doing with the planning? Did anyone's FH's go for their tuxedo's yet? FH did not do that yet and I think he should be going soon, right?

I would have him go for the tuxes now...My FH went last weekend and we were told the guys should come in to get measured 6-8 weeks in advance...we have already past both marks. So basically the guys had one weeks notice to get in there and get measured, which luckily they are able to do. Since you are only a couple of weeks behind me I would say he should go soon...

It is getting so exciting stressful, nerve wracking allin one!!! I scheduled my first fitting for Monday and my bachellorette party is this weekend in the city. I guess I can't eat as much as I wanted to now that i need to fit into my dress. I am so nervous it won't fit

Thanks we are going on the Sex and the City Tour and then out to dinner (The View room) and then dancing at the Culture club!! We got a hotel room so I can crash if I get a bit tipsy.

hi - hope it's okay that i'm crashing your board. i was originally an october 2007 bride, but in the last two weeks i've become a november 06 bride. so exactly in one month i'll be wed also!!!

The tux place tells you that it takes so long to get in to allow for slackers to get measured...but i agree that you should at least go and get the tuxes picked out.

Yeah I want him to at least pick out what he wants the guys to wear.

Did anyone go with their FH's to help pick out the tuxedo's or is everyone leaving that up to the what he wants to pick? I want to leave it up to him, but I am afraid. What did everyone else do?

Exactly one month from today....FH and I will be married!!!!!!!!!!!
