Okay girls, lets hear the stories about how FH asked you to be his wife!!

Post pics if you have them!!

On December 2, 2009 I came home from work to find FH had plugged in the Christmas tree lights. (He was never known for enjoying the seasonal glow of Christmas lights like I do! haha) He asked me 'do you like the ambiance?' and told me to put my bag down. After I put the bag down and turned around, I found FH on one knee in front of the Christmas tree with a ring box in his hand. He asked simply 'Will you marry me?' ...and don't tell him I told you, but he was all teary eyed **swoon**

I kept asking 'are you serious?' and 'oh my God, really?' and I ran over to FH and threw my arms around him. I hadn't even looked at the ring! When we finally calmed down, FH said to me, 'You didn't answer my question! And you didn't look at the ring!'

So I looked down, saw the exact ring I had been eyeing ( ) and said yes!

Afterward, I called my mom, sister, best friend, and dad...all of whom already knew I was getting engaged - FH had told everyone lol...oh well, they still didn't know WHEN!

We went out to dinner with his parents that night and told them all about the proposal. Then we headed to Best Buy and bought a nice big TV...FH's engagement present

Most of you ladies know the deal - but FH and I got engaged at yankee Stadium.

It was September 26th vs. the Red Sox. Me, fh and 2 of FH closest friends were there. We have it on video and a ton of pictures.

Also my parents ended up getting last minute tickets b/c my dad 'had a feeling' it was going to happen that day. So they were there to celebrate which was awesome.

FH had to run all the way from left field to their seats in right field to tell them that it was going to happen during the 5th inning so not to move. I really had no idea and was SOOOOO surprised!!!!!

I cried like a baby and almost threw up - and we had 50,000 people cheering for us, it was an amazing feeling.

I had off from work and FH asked me to take a ride to see one of his customers in the Bronx (he's in sales and just had to drop something off)

I was not too excited but he said maybe if it's nice out after seeing the customer we can go to the Bronx Zoo. That got me right out of bed!! I loveee going to the zoo and i hadn't been in forever!

I didn't really believe that we would definitely go- so much so that I didn't even bother bringing my camera. (FH had just had intense ACL replacement surgery in his knee less then 2 months before this so he was still having trouble walking- so why would he want to walk all around the zoo??)

After seeing the customer we were driving and I started seeing signs for the Bronx Zoo! I was like no way- we are really going?!! I jumped out of the car and was practically skipping while walking through the gates dragging him behind me LOL

I had my map and was plotting out everywhere I wanted to go and FH suggested the Butterfly House. I was like what? Why? who the hell wants to see bugs when you can see penguins, monkeys, or giraffes?!?! But he was like pleeease let's do something I want to do too.

So we are in the Butterfly House and FH says 'Wouldn't this be the best place to propose?' and I shot him down like 'Um YEA it would! But you would never be able to pull it off- you would probably be so anxious- you'd throw the ring box at me in the car or soemthing.' He was like 'Yea you're probably right..'

So I was over the butterflies at this point and was walking towards the door. FH called to me to wait and come back he needed to sit for a second bc of his knee. So I turned around and he was down on his non-crippled knee with the !!!!

I can't even remember what he said but it was the cutest ever!!!! We have a pic from the zoo- I have to scan it onto my computer...

Jenni & Dennis Get Engaged

anyway, I knew the engagement was coming soon, so FH reallllly had to surprise me.

FH decided to go to our 'spot' a restaurant in NYC before he started going on a diet...so I didnt think anything of it, it was our usual place and last minute plans.

well, it was a saturday night in manhattan, at a popular restaurant...and due to LIE traffic we were 2 hours late!

FH said in the car about 3 times that he was just going to turn around and eat somewhere else so i realllllly didnt think anything was going to happen

we get to the restaurant, our table is waiting for us??? reallly??? saturday night prime time and were late?
(STILL didnt dawn on me)

during dinner I see a camera guy and Im like hey babe, they are recording something maybe well be on TV LOLOL (STILL didnt put it together)

well the restaurant was really loud, so FH asked the manager to turn the music down, the manager said I can only do it for a minute, literally a MINUTE...so fh was super nervous, cause as soon as the music stopped he had to get it all out

well he got down on his knee like a gentleman and said the most amazing things to me...and of course, I said yes!

awwwwww!!! i love your story!!!

I love telling this story!! Sorry, it's a bit long.

FH started the proposal a month before he actually did it. On my birthday FH surprised me with a series of cards:
1st - in the morning - told me we were going to San Diego in October
2nd - at lunch - said that he made an appt with a wedding coordinator at The Hotel Del Coronado
3rd - when I got home from work - said we were going to the San Diego Zoo
4th - right before dinner - Said that we were staying at the Hotel Del Coronado!
5th - at dinner - said that we were going to see the theater production of The Lion King!

So fast forward a month to October 22nd. We got to Coronado and had some time to kill before checking in. We spent time walking around the island and on the beach. By the time we checked into the room, we were beat. We laid around on the bed for a while with the balcony door open listening to the ocean crash on the beach below. It was awesome.

Around sunset FH asked if I wanted to go onto the balcony to watch it. I said of course, but it was getting chilly so I went to get a jacket.

When I got out to the balcony there was a card on the table and written on the top was Card #6.

I said 'baby my birthday is over'. So I opened the card and it was one of those boy and girl black and white ones. When I opened in, on the bottom he wrote 'will you marry me?' I looked up and he was on his knee. I immediately started to bawl and got on the ground with him.

I called everyone and they all knew! Except my mom who screamed and cried. I was wondering why all our friends were so excited for our trip.

October 22 is our dating anniversary...it must be good luck!

FH and I had talked about being engaged forever.

We had looked at rings for like 2 years lol.

anyway I picked my last one out w the diamond etc in Jan.

Fh decides we should go upstate to Mohonk (in the winter!) ***?

so we take a ride up to New Paltz. It's icy and cold and I'm like maybe we'll just hang out inside and have lunch or whatever.

so anyway...we go in, it's beautiful. they serve tea and cookies etc. fireplaces are roaring and it's just such a romantic moment. In walks a huge group of people and FH is so annoyed. ok.

so he decides we should bundle up and go outside for a walk. A walk? It's FREEZING! anyway we go.

Mohonk is famous for all their gazebos and we've been up there before. Amazing time - lots of stories.

so, we're walking and we decide to sit in a gazebo, it's windy but the view is amazing.

In true Anthony fashion, he starts into a speech and I'm thinking, geez Ant it's so cold, can you finish? i wanna go inside! and he gets down on one knee and pulls the ring out and I'm like ummmmmmmmmm. lol

He seriously stared at me like are you kidding? and then I snapped out of my mind freeze from the wind and was like omg of course! and so begins the drama of my ring that i no longer have :(

PS we went back inside and sat in front of the fireplace after. lol

FH and I love going into the city and spending the afternoon in Central Park. One day FH said 'We should go into the city this weekend'. The weather had been really nice at the time and we had the same days off (somewhat rare) so I figured OK! I'm thinking he knows I LOVE going into the city, going to the zoo, walking around and always going back to the row boats and the boat house. (has significant meaning since we started dating )

We went to Central Park's Boat house and spent the afternoon on the lake. I ALWAYS have my camera with me. I told FH I wanted to stop and take a few picturse and he said OK. We found a quiet/private area for me to take a few pictures of the lake and us. The 'dork' that I am, I balanced the camera on a tree trunk, set up the timer on the camera and ran back to FH to take a few pictures. As I continued to do this.... FH pulled out a RING. As the pictures were snapping he calls my name and tells me to 'look' SO I looked at him.... he's like 'No, look down' and he was holding a RING!! As the pictures continued to snap he proposed! I said YES! Gives new meaning to 'Picture Perfect'

WHILE ON A VACATION IN LAS VEGAS CELEBRATING OUR 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY ,DANIEL MADE RESERVATIONS FOR A ROMANTIC DINNER AT THE EIFFEL TOWER RESTAURANT. WHEN WE ARRIVE THERE THE MAITRE'D EXPLAINED TO US THAT OUR TABLE WAS NOT AVAILABLE YET, BUT WE COULD GO TO THE TOP OF THE TOWER AND BY THE TIME WE RETURNED THE TABLE SHOULD BE OPEN. AFTER CLOSING MY EYES THE ENTIRE TIME UP TO THE TOP OF THE TOWER, WE FINALLY ARRIVE 460 FEET ABOVE THE LAS VEGAS STRIP. DANNY THEN ENCOURAGED ME TO TAKE SOME PICTURES OF MY FAVORITE HOTEL. HE CALLED MY NAME AND WHEN I TURNED AROUND , HE WAS ON ONE KNEE AND EVERYONE ON THE OBSERVATION DECK WAS SPEECHLESS. EVERYONE WHO WAS GATHERED AROUND US WAITED FOR ME TO SAY YES AND WHEN I DID THE DECK WAS FILLED WITH APPLAUSE. IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING. AFTER THE OBSERVATION DECK, WHEN WE RETURNED TO THE RESTAURANT, ALL THE STAFF ASKED TO SEE MY RING AND CONGRATULATED ME, AS THEY ALL WERE IN ON THE SURPRISE THE ENTIRE TIME.. WE WERE THEN BROUGHT TO THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE, OVERLOOKING THE BELLAGIO FOUNTAINS. WHEN WE SAT DOWN THERE WERE A DOZEN ROSES ON THE TABLE AND A PERSONALIZED MENU WITH THE WORDS 'IN HONOR OF REN AND DANIELS ENGAGEMENT.' THE NIGHT WAS UNFORGETTABLE.

The summer of 2009 was a long one. I was working a full time legal intenrship in Manhattan and I couldn't take any time off for a vacation like FH and I would normally take over the summer. Since my internship was ending on a Friday and My classes were starting the following MOnday, I didn't have any down time in between either. FH decided he was going tot ake me away for the weekend that weekend between intenrship and school just as a relaxation type of thing since we couldn't take vacation.

That Friday, I actually took an important exam that is a licensing requirement for attorneys. FH took the day off and drove me to and from the city for my test, dropped me back off at home and was planning onc oming back to pick me up int he ev evening. He told me to dress up for dinner and pack for a casual weekend.

He wouldn't tell me where we were ging but he took me to Long Island... we were driving and we pulled up to Oheka and I got really excited. He kept telling me we couldn't get engaged yet though cause he was still saving money and the proposal was going to be 'done right'.

So we check into our room and get ready for dinner.. I'm looking for a box in his pockets and don't see one, so I resigned myself to thinking it wasn't happenening because I didn't want to ruin what was going to be an otherwise awesome weekend be being disappointed that he didn't ask me to marry him. that wouldn't have been fair.

So we go down tot he private dinner FH had set up in advance and we're talking and I said you know, everyone thinks we're getting engaged this weekend and he says nooo, you know I can't do it yet. I'm so sorry, I know you want it to happena nd it will, soon, I promise. So I said ok and promised myself not to thinka bout it anymore.

About 15 minutes later, over appetizers, FH says why don't you go over by the French doors that lead out into the garden so I can take a picture. So While I'm trying to figureo ut how and where to stand, I turn around to ask him if I'm good and he's down on one kneww behind me. He was so nervous, he just said 'I love you so much, will you marry me' and of course I said yes. I was so surprised cause I figured it wasn't happening. He can't usually lie to me, but he totally psyched me out this time.

PS, the ring was int he camera bag. He's a smart cookie, he knew I'd look for clues, I'm really hard to fool, and he didn't want to give me any. The ring was too thick for his pockets so he left the camera in his luggage and hid the ring in the bag.

It was beautiful and I'll never forget that moment. We spent the rest of the weekend at Oheka, took a tour, had dinner the next night at Meroni's(Tasting menu=amazing) and went to my friend's house out east afterwards and came home on Sunday. It was perfect.

It was december 24th Christmas Eve LOL FH had told me on the ride over to Aunts house that his brother and his wife were arguing and that he didnt know what to o that he felt really bad. So like 15 mins after we get there he says I haveto go get my brother he is really upset I said OK I didnt think anything. SO now time is passing and Im thinking where is he. So I go to call him and I see my truck coming down the road, so then his mom walks in the room where I was and I said OMG I cant believe they are fighting and she was like what ever we should just stay out of it and I said they are here now and she said just come back in the living room so I go to walk back and then my phone rings its FH He says you gotta come outside theres a guy out here dressed as santa and hes dancing down the street IM like What so I look out the window and I tell his dad who's sitting there so Im looking and Im like WTheck there is hahaha I figured it was a neighbor or something who was having a party and my truck was still in the road running and the santa was standing by the drivers window so I figured my FH was still sitting in the drivers seat talking to the Santa So i got my coat on to go see the santa(like a little kid) I go out there and this santa is dancing and stumbling down the street and my FBIL yells 'Jenny you gotta see this guy' So Im looking at the santa and Im walking down the driveway and the santa starts coming towards me and I see his sneakers and Im like OMG is that Stephen and he gets on one knee and proposes I scream shut up are you serious. It was the cutest thing ever it was perfect there was christmas music playing and snow on the ground. My parents were hiding behind a car down the road and they got to see the whole thing. FH hates when I show people the pics of the engagement he said he dressed like santa for me not for every1 else but I will sneak one hahaha
