I've never been to Russo only heard great things about them. Caffe on the green is really nice too..saw pics online.
Before we got engaged, Dh said he wanted Russo's, until he realized that too many people we know get married there so that changed his mind.

Yea thats true you don't want to have your wedding in a place that your friends have already done it because then they'll think your copying.

I really wanted cafe on the green, because it was so close to the church I am getting married at and also I heard great things about it. When I called to make an appt to see the place they told me that they were going to be renovating and they didn't want to show it until after they were done in March. I didn't want to wait that long to book my RH so that's when I started looking elsewhere. I guess all things happen for a reason 'cause I am very happy with Riccardos.

There havent been too many brides with these 2 locations but 2 places I LOOOOVE in queens are: the Foundry and the metropolitan building in LIC. Both are not your typical catering hall at all. The foundry is beautiful and very modern and just different, we were gonna have e-party there but then it was going to be more work bc we had to do alot of stuff ourselves so changed our minds and it was too small for our wedding. The metropolitan building in LIC is also GORGEOUS and very different. I saw it after I booked

The metropolitan building has been doing weddings more recently now well not like very recent. They have other parties there too and do photo and film shoots. Its more of a loft type space
the foundry is also more of a unique location and not like a typical catering hall. http://www.thefoundry.info/
both are in LIC, and years ago it wasnt really built up the way it is that neighborhood. There were warehouses and a bit run down and not the greatest parts in some ares. THe last few years they have been building luxury buildings everywhere, opening up restaurants and shops everywhere, they did the whole seaport area which is gantry park. So now its very different.

At lunch i usually walk towards Sunnyside never into LIC, I think I am going to start seeing whats down the other way. Its like a whole new world down there

I am so not creative. My Mom is making my CP, mySIL/MOH is making my FG basket and RB pillow. I was going to do a cardbox but realized that I cant even wrap a x-mas pretty, never mind the card box. So I kind of decided against the card box and go by the old Italian traditional silk drawstring bag.(like in the Godfather movie)

Im not really creative but im going to really try because i want pocketfold invites and they are an arm and a leg lol..your very lucky that you are getting help i have no help whatsoever . I think alot of girls use craft glue to glue the fabric onto the box so it should be a bit easier to wrap the box with the fabric.
