Just created this.thread .because a lot of girls on here know great restaurants..and many need suggestions...so this thread is for recommendations on Great Restaurants...

Just be sure to put the type of food/borough/location and maybe $$$$ (being the most)

Captain Bills - Bay Shore (great seafood)

Abel Conklin's - Huntington (great steak)

Mac's Steakhouse - Huntington (great steak but gonna go out of business, not enough people know about it. )

Tricia's Cafe - Babylon (hamburgers and the best sweet potato fries ever)

Canterbury Ales - Oyster Bay - delicious food, menu changes, mostly american cuisine.

piccolo's in huntington is awsome! - i think they have everything here. absolutly yummy... $$

so is blue hanu - not sure the food either.... lots of fish selections - $$

I second, third, and FORTH this one!!! I love it there (Jenn, we should meet up for a beer there one night). It's family owned, Zaggat rated, and VEEEERY inexpensive and the portions are gigantic and so is the menu!!!


Don Ricardo's in Babylon. Pretty reasonably priced and they have amazing Sangria and their tortilla chips are like crack!

Milk & Sugar in Bay Shore. Cute for a cup of coffee and dessert.

Trattoria L'incontro- astoria(italian) and EXCELLENT

718(astoria) spaniard and french fusion...trendy but small and cozy place and amazing food, very different


The crabhouse, on the water in LIC-has been around forever, casual relaxed place, cool old skool decor and AMAZING seafood, ahhh sooo good.

Mardi gras ON Austin street(creole) it can be a little spicy so def take this into consideration.

I would suggest cabana but they dont take reservations and the wait is always long, so if you dont mind waiting. EXCELLENT CUBAN FOOD

Long island

Don Juans-old country road, it is mexican food and pretty good and good atmosphere

Then theres places like the lux cafe, cheesecake factory, PF changs, but they can get hectic.

Or how about Jonathon's on Jericho turnpike, in new hyde park, its supposed to be good.

SEA in williamsburg brooklyn...Very trendy and hip type place decor. When you walk in theres a bar for waiting area, and in the waiting area theres big swings for people to wait, the pod type chairs, and other cool and funky type seats.

THeres a long pool and a buddha at the end of it in the middle of the restaurant and you can sit on the side, and the way the chairs are made it looks like youre sitting on the floor, hard to explain...then they have regular tables all around...they play trance music and have disco lights...the first time i went i didnt like what i ordered but i went last week and it was real good. And also its like a big hot spot now and you would think they charge more but their prices are very reasonable.

Sofrito....Puerto Rican cuisine. This restaurant is on 400 E. 57th St. in Manhattan and is AMAZING. The Sangria is off the hook...the food and the presentation is amazing.....

Surprisingly its very cheap. The decor is great., very 'hip' atmosphere...They have lounges in the front for those who want to just do drinks and appetizers...they have a full bar that runs throughout the place...Hot.

Ooo when you mentioned cafeteria you just reminded me of two places.

Also Sushi samba is a good place

Coffee shop on 14st union square is sooo good...they also have a bar area and then diner type seats and on the other side its all tables...The food is great, its also a hip type place. Its also one of the few places open up real late...I have hit that spot at like 4-5am for some after clubbing dining.

L'express on 20something street lol sorry cant remember exact street, its either 26 or 23, its right before angelo maxi's. Sort of the same style as coffee shop, and they have great breakfast food, another great spot to go to for very late night dining.

BOth places get very packed and there is usually a wait so just keep that in mind

they're not very consistent - and the waitstaff is horrendous. all attitude all the time.
