<<OFFICIAL SOMETHING DIFFERENT THREAD>>

Okay things I think are diff that will be at our wedding:
1) bestman for me instead of moh - yes he will be helping me

2) a photograph of tattoo's - all bp that has tatts will be shirtless or sleeves for one 'flash' photo.

3) table numbers will be old irish st. pats post cards with numbers on them.

4) a wishing tree (this is proposed) that i will create with tags made of the same old irish postcrads with old irish stamps (recreated artwork) to be filled out on the backside and hung on the tree.

5) favors: a favor bag of goodies: two pint glasses with monogram, two coasters and some fake irish coins/chocolates

6) music: VERY DIFFERENT - we are playing punk, metal, irish folk/punk and hardcore. cocktail hour will be infused with irish/folk punk, some instr. metal songs, entrance songs for wp are thrash/death metal and punk and two songs at reception one hardcore and one metal.

7) Guinness is to be served in pint glasses

8) possible irish step dancers at reception also but that isn't too different anymore.

9) Thought of something else - cake cutting song is monty python theme song

Plate Breaking

There will definitely be a lot of plate breaking and money throwing at my wedding. Also, there's this Greek island tradition where a song is written about me and my FH. The song is sung at the reception - Not sure if we're actually going to do that but it's a possibility.



One of my closest childhood friends is getting married in 2 1/2 weeks and he hired Mr. Met to make a guest appearance at the wedding. Tha'ts pretty different

wow im so un unique!!! im not doing anything 'different'

the only thing that is a little different (i actually got this idea from someone on here!!) we're having the DJ play 'grow old with you' when we cut the cake instead of that 'the bride cuts the cake' song

Ceremony scrolling during reception.

Mr. Met...FH would love it if i got him for our wedding haha

Um...well I am desperately trying to conveince FH to give us a Military Wedding!! I WANT ONE SO BAD haha

What it is is- the Marine's stand in their dress blues (uniform) and hold swords so as the bride and groom walk out of church they go under the swords being held above their heads by the Marines. Then Before the get through the last 2 Marines standing on either side of the bride and groom they lower the swords and cross them in front of the bride and groom blocking them. The bride and groom kiss and then the Marines hit the bride on the butt with the sword and say 'welcome to the Marine Corp Family'

haha I think it is cute...plus I want FH to wear his uniform...he looks so handsome in it

Also FH is going to have a dance with his mother and his grandma as well. His grandma pretty much raised him so she wants to have a seperate dance as well!!

haha yeah i am really trying to convience Fh to have this....but i dont know if he wants to be in his uniform we will see...i am goingt o get him to break haha

i am doing a brother-sister dance.

i am making mini-scrapbooks out of paper bags as favors for the ladies (in my album), and the men will get either personalized playing cards, or a personalized golf ball set. at first i thought it was too weird, giving different favors to the men and the women, but now i like it and think it's neat.

At first I really wanted to do this but now I dont know. I wouldnt mind it bec its def something my guests would love. I dont want to spend too much money on this, if anyone has a good company please share.

no way!!! how much was that! i would LOVE to have Mr. Met! since we are getting married in Oct. it would be even better if the METS were in the playoffs at that time!

we are doing this too (i think!). Our DJ package includes someone coming to videotape the ceremony and then they play it on flat screens at some point (maybe during dinner) during the recepetion for those who might have missed it.

I was also thinking about getting a cigar roller as a surprise for my FH, but I think I am going to do something else now, my FH and his friends are obsessed with Manhattan Special (that coffee/soda concoction) so I am trying to get that to be served from a fountain at the bar.

Some other 'different' things that I am doing is a placecard 'tree', my florist is making this giant tree with our placecards hanging down from some sort of ribbon.

well we do have a lot of guests, the florist said usually he doesn't do all of the cards in the tree, he puts some on the table which will be lined with 'grass' and he will do half of the alphabet on one side and the other half on the other. I haven't worked out all the logistics yet but I love the idea and he said its been done before so I'm taking his word for it!!!
