we did our cake tasting a few weeks ago
yummmmm
we went with rainbow cookie cake with raspberry filling and
vanilla cake with cannoli filling. it will be in fondant.
(no extra charge VC picks it up) they have 2 books of cakes which we chose one from.

Did the organist ever get back to you?

yes, she did. Her email was down, but she finally got back to me. Everything is ironed out and songs are chosen. 50 days!!!

awesome! which songs did you choose? she is very good.

I'm confused! When I was there last month to pay a deposit, my fiance and I asked what to put on the invitations and they said 'The Vineyards'....


Oh well! Its too late to change it now!

so we had the tasting on Sat and chose our cake on Sun

TASTING:
I was unsure about what to expect- I really thought we were going to get a 'taste' of a few items and choose our final options. We were actually planning to go out to eat after the tasting. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!! They fed us like we were going to the chair! A plate of 4 different passed appetizers, then a plate of 4 different appetizers from the chafing dishes, a piece of the chateu briand ( which you could cut with your fork!), and a plate of dessert ( not wedding cake but some of the extra options). Everything was phenomenal. We are foodies, and it was sooo good.

The chef came out to meet us, and we diiscussed dietary restrictions (We have a lot of allergies in the family!) and he was sooo accomodating. He also made a lot of recommendations and suggestions for the fish course.

we chose linens- so many choices!!

Overall it was the BEST experience we've had during this whole planning process.

CAKE:
We went to Create a cake Sun for a tasting. had a choice of 4 cakes (vanilla, choc, red velvet, or carrot), 6 fillings, and a ton of fruit fillings in addition. Fondant is included in our package (usually a $100 upgrade), and they can basically do anything as far as decorating goes!!!

We ate so much we had stomach aches!!! We chose 3 flavors!!! red velvet with cream cheese frosting, vanilla cake with choc fudge, and choc cake with choc mousse.

I really feel like we have NOTHING to worry about ladies!!! I'm getting so excited- 47 days!!!

Can you clarify on the choice of linens? I am hearing so many different stories. Do they have multiple table clothes you can choose from?

laura- when i asked johnny last time i was out there he said that they have different napkin choices, not tablecloths. but i've heard from other girls that they have multiple tablecloth options. i still don't know what the real story is with them.

i was also told that they only have two color choices for table clothes-----gold or white
the napkins they have in almost every color.

i was going ot do a gold underlay with white on top and purple napkins. think it will look stupid?

nope, not at all. actually i have a pic of the gold underlay/white overlay and it looks nice:



it actually looks like a sheer gold underlay...very pretty!

No, not yet. After the weather is nice and I see my flower samples.

I def know they can order other linens if they don't have them in because I asked bill for something and he check for me but his vendor didn't have it.
