this is a GREAT thread!!! I am sooo worried about our guest list, we have somewhat large families, 260 on our A list, 50ish on our B list, and a 200 minimum. I am not worried about meeting the min. at all, we are actually praying for at least 20% to say no! we have some people on the B list that we wish we had room for on the original list! We recently sent out the STD's and EVERYONE is saying they are coming
anyway please keep the responses coming, this is so useful!

No Response Rate: 24% *Most were OOT guests *The total invite list includes '&guest' for our single friends and most of them came alone (this makes up around 25 people on the invite list, so take them off and our no response rate was 15%)

one the bridal magazines I read had an interesting formula for calculating the amount of guests that will respond yes. Not sure how accurate it is, but they claim it was 'the most accurate way to estimate'.
next to each guest name that you know for sure will come (like your mom, sister, etc) put a '1'.
and next to each guest name that you're unsure of, put a '.5'
when you're done, add up all the numbers to get the result.
I thought it was interesting!

*At least 30 of the 65 no's were guests of friends/family that did not bring one. I was shocked but only one person brought someone the the wedding that i didn't know.

That means we had a 32% NO rate.
We promised 150 and now have to add our 5 piece band and our photographer and his assistant into our count and pay full price to come to about 147 people. We actually sent out 3 invites yesterday to try and invite a few more people..
We know the important people will be at our wedding, and with less people, we have more time to talk to everyone!!

Those are roughly the numbers that we expect to get, from estimating who is most likely to attend, and who is more likely to decline.
