We just got FH's cousin's invite this weekend - I am a little concerned because its sooooo similar to ours.
Some background - groom's Mom (FH's aunt) is terminally ill. The couple dated for a short time, got engaged a few months ago, and are getting married in July.
FH and I chose these invites in November! And I described them to the other bride at Thanksgiving. I don't know if she doesn't care that they're so similar, or just didn't remember....I don't feel right asking her.
This is the invite we chose: (its all pearlized with a pearly filigree border)
And this is the invite they used: (only the border is pearly - the background is flat white)
50% of our guests are the same...if you were in my shoes, would you look for a different invite?
On a side note: FMIL got her invite first (ours had the wrong zip) - she tells me, 'Wait til you see the invite - could they have picked something uglier!??! Sooo boringggg' I felt like crying!!!!

Re: Oh no - Should I change my invites?
You should go with what you LOVE, and if your FMIL doesn't like something similar, too bad for her; she may love yours regardless. If you like the other ones more than your original choice, go with that, if not and you are just looking for a second alternative, go with your first choice. No one will notice especially since the weddings are so far apart time-wise.

I guess I just had a though.....since theirs will go out first everyone will think that you copied them......not the other way around......I guess that just sinks.......Sorry

The other choice is beautiful too....while I do think your first ones are very elegant (not boring!!) I would still have an issue with it being similar to the other's brides invites, but that's just me.
If it doesn't bother you so much then go with what you originally loved but if it's going to bother you for the next few months I say go with new ones.

i'd prob leave it.. no one really remembers the invite except for those few people that do..
your wedding is in november and hers is in july so theres time between..
you liked this one so i'd just keep it.. do you really want to go thru that whole process again??

FH will forget he said he doesn't like them by the time they come in. I really like the second one.. I almost ordered them but on the website I ordered from they only had plain white. I don't think the invites are what counts though

i think you should go with what you love. you won't even have sent out your invites by the time their wedding is over, so people shouldn't really get confused. ultimately, you need to make you happy first!! good luck!!

TO be honest I would. Only for the fact being is that someone can mistake thiers for yours and vise a versa and if they replied to one they may not reply to the other becasue they are confussed which is which. There are soooooo many different invites out there, that maybe this is a way for finding the 'right one' that you may not have seen. Keep your head up this will all work out.

I wouldn't change them... the weddings are pretty far apart. And you should go with what you love. It's your day and you should be happy.
Hope everything works out.

Re: Oh no - Should I change my invites?
Since you haven't ordered them yet-- I would change and order new ones....There are a million invites to choose from---YEs it's annoying that you need to do this now--but she probably didn't realize how similar they were going to be.
I really like your new choices (especially the first one) It has character & it's elegant

But their weddings are months apart. There can't be any confusion. The OP's invites won't even be sent out until a few months after this other girl's wedding. No one will likely even have the old invite anymore.

ohh wow that stinks - they are similar - if you were dead set on them and really loved the invitation then i would keep it - if i was on the fence then I would personally change - but if you really LOVE them I would keep what you chose.... good luck!

no, do not order new invites. there are a ton of invites out there that are similar. if she thinks you copied her or whatever, let her think that. not worth the stress.

Re: Oh no - Should I change my invites?
I would not order new ones...Go with the ones you chose and love....honestly...no one really pays as much attention to the invite as the bride!
You might always regret the change and never be fully happy with your choice
