Ok I am starting the FMIL thread....

Just answer briefly- do you or don't know you get along with FMIl?

I must say we are very close. I do think she babies my FH a little, but it is not as bad as it once was.

Yes...but his whole family is a little too close IMO. Great nice people, but not the kind I would consider leaving close too because we would never have our own lives.

We get along, but of course there are things that she does to drive me crazy. Funnier is that she recognizes it, and tries to avoid it at all costs. She hates her mother in law and I think she's trying desperately to not repeat history!

I get along great with my FMIL. She's very sweet to me and has never given us any flack about the wedding - if she has a problem with any of it, she's never said anything. I consider myself very lucky - esp. with some of the horror stories I've heard.

My FMIL is funny sometimes..

She calls me last night to talk and I am like woah..She has always been around boys. She is the oldest of 9.. and she is just different..

I mean you should hear her sometimes.

When she talks about sex and . I Blush Red.. She says...

Theresa I know you know about these things I use to see the marks on Ronnies back..

I am like DOREEN there are somethings a FMIL does not talk about!!!!

She is a bit wild!!!!!!!!

I am getting nicer!!!!!

I am lucky. My MIL is very nice, sweet women who responds to everything wtih 'That is lovely'. She also lives in MA so I never deal with drop in visits or anything like that.

Wow! I feel like the odd woman out here, but no, I definitely do NOT get along with his mother! He is an only child, and so was she, and she was/is unable to cope with the fact that her precious son might just love another woman. I'm not kidding. I could tell you stories upon stories, but I won't embarrass her. I still treat her with respect, but it's going to blow up one day.... I'm really happy (and jealous) of all of you brides who get along with your FMILs!!!

No Lauren, you are not different from any of us I feel like... In her opinion, we get along. In my opinion, we get along. I don't argue with her openly or anything. We don't clash openly or raise voices. But, privately, I have my own thoughts on some of her behaviors. She'll never know though...
