I try to get along with my MIL but she always butts her nose in where it doesnt belong and ****es me off. My DH is an only child and she made him her whole life. Now that he's gone, she doesnt know what to do with herself anymore. Anytime, they come over she breaks into a story about how she misses him. She needs to get a hobby!

FMIL and I have a pretty good relationship. She occassionally makes me nuts b/c she can sometimes really say things in a way that would make anyone mad! But happily those moments are occuring with less frequency.

We get along just dandy. BUT I don't agree with her tactics on raising her grandson and allowing her daughter to behave like a teeny-bopper. So I don't respect her. But I do respect her b/c she is FH's mom.

We get along great. The only problem is she is very needy. She need FH approval before she does anything. He is one of four boys, but she always comes to him with her issues. He is not even the oldest.

She got engaged this month and she wants me to help her plan her wedding!

Seriously, I get 'along' with my MIL just fine. She is a nice woman, but we are never going to be all chatty and buddies, b/c we just have very different personalities. She (and FIL) like to keep to themselves, as they are not really comfortable being sociable. They live in South Florida, so I don't have to entertain them very often either, which is just fine by me!

We get along, but have totally different personalities... So far she has not been very expressive with her opinions and not been pushy and I am paranoid of a volcano eruption sometime in the future I hope that won't happen, but its my biggest fear. FIL is a bit more pushy, but both me and FI take his opinion with a huge lump of salt

FMIL and I DO NOT get along we have very different views on about 99% of things. It's really unfortunate and I envy all you future brides out there who have a relationship with your fmil.
FMIL thinks that everything should be her way and if she doesn't agree with something she blows her lid!!! She's gone off at me too many times to count and has had the nerve to say that her son does everything for me and I do nothing for him... and has gone on to say when fi and I have a disagreement - that if I just did what he wants then, we wouldn't have problems.
This lady is just unbelievable... lol I laugh about it now - but, I can't even tell you how many times this woman has made me cry.
My favorite thing that she has said (which was something about a decision fi and I made about the wedding) 'How am I supposed to face people when they find out where your having your wedding? Don't you care how I feel?' 'I thought you would've wanted to make me happy'
Talk about craziness!

My MIL told me on the Sunday after TG that she loved me talk about speechless. Her and FIL lives in Florida. We are not buddies but we do not hate each other. I think she wishes that I would speak more and be like one of her daughters, it might get there one day, but its not there yet. I am trying

FMIL and I get along fine- she lives 5 hours away, which doesnt hurt Shes really sweet, but signfigantly older than my mom (FH is youngest of 5) so shes difficult to relate to, very old fashioned.

We get along great. My FH parents are hippies so they are laid back which is cool.

i find it very difficult to talk to my mil b/c she is not mean, but weird...i have very little in common with her and she can be quite the butt-in-ski...but i realized this very early on so i have kept my distance and thankfully she hasnt bothered me much since the wedding!! i pray that it stays this way...but we will never be close b/c i know that if i give her an inch, she will take a yard....

My FFIL told me off so bad and pushed me.. (LONG STORY)

Ronnie and I didn't speak to the EnTIRE family for over a year..

NO ONE WALKS all over me. EVER or anyone I care for.. I tolerate no SHI*! I guess I am a bitc*..

His little brother was very very sick so we made amends for him.....

Things are getting better.. I don't respect him, but he kisses my a** these days.....

WISH!!! Tell her to renew her own vows and plan her own party and back off of yours!!!!

I wish I could - unfortunately, fi dad passed away before he was a yr. old. From what I heard he was a really nice man. It's too bad he's not around maybe she wouldn't be the witch she is today.
I get so frustrated sometimes tho because fi has only stuck up for me 2x's. And the other times, he just says - well she's entitled to her opinion...
But, good for you! If someone were to push me I would flip... They would definitely have trouble walking if you know what I mean
Believe me in the beginning of our relationship, I used to never say anything b'cause I was trying to be nice... well, I've now learned that it doesn't matter, how nice I am because she'll always have something to say. So, I've been giving it right back to her.
