Okay I'm posting a topic and I don't care who hates me for it, Christine & Rachel....
Original post by EmberLynn
This is wedding website. We are all out to have fun and it silly to just start fights and hate threads. Look to each their own, but come on its the internet. Why is everything so serious and why do feelings need to be hurt! This is suppose to be fun, please girls can't we just get along and act like adults. I've seen threads attacking peoples taste, (NOT JUST MINE) peoples opinions, and so on. Its childish. I might be hated by everyone here after writting this, but to be honest I'm tired of it all!

In my lowly opinion, no matter who you are on this site...whether you are someone everyone 'likes' or someone that no one really knows to well, using nasty comments like I saw yesterday is uncalled for.
I just want to say that your opinion is the exact opposite of 'lowly'.

I remember when I first joined LI Weddings back in 11/04 BEFORE there was even a 2006 board. The first 2006 brides all talked about leaving drama out of our boards but obviously that vow hasn't lasted.
Kelly,I was that bride that started that original thread asking to always be friends after seeing the drama on the other boards. That was like the first week in January! I know some of the brides weren't even here yet but I do remember someone saying 'it'll never work, you'll get drama.' Boy, well, to whoever that was, you were right.
I know this sounds pathetic, but I was thinking about this as I was brushing my teeth this morning. I was thinking about how I really like all of you and if someone was to say nasty things to me, I would be really upset.
In my lowly opinion, no matter who you are on this site...whether you are someone everyone 'likes' or someone that no one really knows to well, using nasty comments like I saw yesterday is uncalled for. I like everyone and I am sad to see that during this holiday season that we have to jump down each other's throats.
We are so lucky to have the lives we have.... and I hope to never hurt anyone else on this site, regardless if they say nasty things to me or not. Happy Holidays!
leese, I am right there with you...as many of the 06'ers know, leese & I were two of the first 06ers that were around (along with marymoon & hollie) but I remember that post very well! I think I even have it saved in my notebook! I remember getting jumped upon & told that 'we were not realistic' to think that there would be no drama & that 'we lived in a fantasyland' As far as I know, I have stayed as drama free on these boards bc I just don't see the point of all the nasty name calling & comments....I am not saying that there is not drama in the world, bc trust me, there is!
If nasty comments were said about me or to me, of course I would be upset, it is only natural but I would never go back on someone! That is just not the person I am! I like to think I am a better person rather then going down to someone's level! Remember one thing, if you have something to say, bad or nice, don't go back on your word or delete the post bc you regret it! To me, that is being a coward, stick to your guns & keep things real!
This is suppose to be a time of friendship, love & happiness! It is the holidays! We all have a lot to be thankful for & I think that is forgotten all too often! We are only 10 days away from our year & this is when things are going to get amazing!! Live is way to short to be fighting & calling people names, sit back, relax & enjoy life!

I am still not sure what happened - but you are all right. Why does there need to be drama and why do people have to be rude?! I love reading the comments on these boards - but I sometimes think people can be out right nasty.

I am actually really sad to see a post like this. I don't know what happened yesterday, but it sounds like two people were really nasty to eachother. Look, I know when you get lots of people together, not everyone will lilke everyone else. And some people will be rude. But we have choices. We can take what the person says in stride, and brush it off, or we can be just as rude back and keep something going until it gets so bad that the thread has to be pulled. I wish we would all take the first option. I think everyone on here has a good heart and would never intentionally hurt someone else. If you do have a problem with someone, you should try to work it out between the two of you, and not bring it into a public forum. If you recieve FM it is because that person wanted to tell you something in private, and I think it is inappropriate to post that private FM. I have seen this done on a number of occasions, and I just can't understand that. Well, Iam not going to go on for any longer, I have said my piece, and thats it.
LOVE to all my '06ers~~

You do make a good point about the FM's but on the other hand, If someone is not woman enough to say how she feels and needs to insult people than she should be called out on it. Let's all see the kind of person she really is.

Re: Okay I'm posting a topic and I don't care who hates me for it, Christine & Rachel....
I agree completely w/your comment Stephanie.
I admit that I have been involved with more than a few drama topics on this board.
As far as this incident specifically, I apologize about the turn it took, and what I did say to Rachael about her FI was uncalled for, and I was embarrassed that I allowed someone to keep pushing me to that point, and in turn asked for Ron to delete the post (where the thread was started by me personally, so yes, I am entitled to that.)
However, as far as how people react to certain situations, we are all different. Where someone may be able to brush it off and keep moving and ignore, I am the opposite.
When I feel that I am being personally attacked, relentlessly at that, I do come back, rather than just stepping down. Most especially when the other party involved is relentless and continues to go on and on when apologies had already been exchanged and accepted.
As far as FM's being publicly posted on a thread. It is the decision of the sender or recipient to take that action. This is a public forum and the use of FM is not PRIVATE - we do not pay to use this site or the FM feature, and therefore it is public.
I made the conscious decision to post that forum mail far long after I received it. I did not respond to it, and ignored it so that it wouldn't drum up any more drama.
The damage is already done, understandably so. I am not proud of the ONE comment that I made and have apologized for it.
However, I will say this as my final statement in regards to this - unless one saw the entire incident unfold through the various posts, then it is very difficult to gauge exactly how you feel about it.
Once again, I'm sorry that it even came to that point, but I felt attacked and had to stand up for myself and the other brides. I'm not trying to be a 'hero' or get on anyone's good side by this. Most of you know exactly what you see w/me is exactly what you get w/me. I've developed close relationships with many of you here and when someone out-right insults me or anyone else, I will be there to defend myself and others. How it unfolds later on is impossible to foresee.

this is something that we don't see often enough. an apology after the fact. it is very easy to get caught up in drama, especially when you are stressed to begin with. I think it is VERY big of Christine to do this, and I think it's unfair that the thread is now being tossed by the wayside. so many posts before, so many views after, and only ONE person says, Well said Christine, or I appreciate your candor and honesty Christine. Apology accepted maybe?
come on ladies, that's not really fair either. I wasn't around for the drama, but I can certainly spot an honest and heartfeltapology when I see one.
Chris, good show luv.

You couldn't have said it better! There is no need to be posting FM's. They are meant to be between you and the person who wrote it. We shouldn't be posting it so we can have everyone hang up on that person...thats not right

I remember that post too! I remember FMing you both and giving you 'kudos' for trying to keep this drama free. Too much estrogen in one spot is bound to be a source of drama. I'm with Ember and the other girls who just want to be on this board to plan a wedding and have some fun doing it. Do we really need to take ourselves that seriously as we chat incessantly over a 5 hour event?
I missed the drama (thankfully).
Thanks again to Leese, Kissy and Hollie for once again trying to minimize the BS. Shame on those of you who create it and thrive on it.
ETA: Lauren - very well said as well!

I have to disagree here. I think the fact that Christine was able to apologize says alot. She was attacked first and while maybe she said some things that were not nice, she owned up to it and apologized. The other poster did not and still has not. To insult someone and attack them is just wrong. However we all make mistakes and it takes a big person to admit it.
Hopefully from now on, we'll have a lot less drama on the boards.

I don't think it was 'VERY' big of her to apologize...from the sounds of this thread, it sounds like her apology may have been in order. JMO.
Thank you for your honest opinion Kris.
I'm curious to know why you feel that way, or specifically more over to what about this thread leads you to believe that?
I'd just like to know for future reference so that the same thing is not repeated.

Re: Okay I'm posting a topic and I don't care who hates me for it, Christine & Rachel....
I think that both ladies owed each other an apology and I dont think one is 'BIGGER' than the other to have had apologized...Rachel did apologize to Christine who then 'kind of' accepted her apology and I think thats what started the whole twirl. Lets just move on and have fun on these boards and stop siding with people and just enjoy each other. I mean come on, this is a public forum and taking things seriously is the last thing that we all should be doing. We have jobs, families and most importantly WEDDINGS to plan. So lets forget about who said what when and what...Christine-you're a great asset to this Board, you have the bomb creativity and sense of humor...lets just keep it that way and stay clear of all the drama.
ETA: And come on...we all have lives I assume outside LIW...
