We got our interest rate locked in at 5.625%!!!!!!!!!

YAY congrats thats amazing

did you do this yesterday?

i am asking bc my dad and real estate agent said they tried to lock in fh at a rate of 5.5% yesterday but they were afraid if its going to take longer than 30 days and he then wont get it and also pay $1k.

FH called not long ago, I think the mortgage broker did it today. I cannot believe it!

we are going through the same thing right now! I'm so happy the feds decided to lower the rates and the mortgage rates went down. We locked in today at a lower rate then we originally locked in at. I just hope they keep goin down!!!

I was just looking at Mortage rates...FH wants to refinance..his is currently 6.5%, and it looks like Teachers FCU has it at 5.375% for 30 years and 4.5% for 15 years fixed of course.

I have to call him and tell him.

I would love to re-finance mine but I can't while I have it up for sale :-\ Oh well!

HMMM interesting, guess rates are low right now. Between yesterday and today its great. Although im annoyed they didnt lock in at the 5.5 rate but eh what can you do

if I'm not mistaken when the FED lowers interest rates it doesn't really affect the mortgage rates. The bond market is what you want to watch.

That is amazing. Congrats. Interest rate helps so much when paying a 30 yr mortgage. It's crazy to see how much interest you pay when you buy a house.
