Such a sad story..I think the scariest part is that it happened ON the resort; yes bad thinga happen everywhere but for this to happen on the actual property is just disturbing. I looked at the website for the hotel-very exclusive looking place. GORGEOUS rooms..so HOW the heck did an armed rober get onto the site??? Did he sneak up on the beach?
Security is defiently an issue in this case-seems way too lax.
We acyually thought about Antigua for our 1 yr trip but decided to spend elss and stay homebound at Vegas...
Poor man...poor families.

Someone who works there probably tips off the robbers where to hit . . . .nice. 10 people killed there in 7 months? That's pretty crazy for a small place . . . . but hey, 7 people were shot last night in separate incidents about 4 miles from my house (in Washington DC), so you really never know.
People sometimes don't realize that the island resorts are surrounded by abject poverty. We took a ride around the surrounding area in Jamaica on two trips and while we were in five star luxury, .5 miles away people lived in corrugated tin shacks smaller than some people's toolshed. Those people work at the resorts, so, it's scary.

I just saw that too! It's so horrible! Please ladies remember to keep your wits about you while your are away! How terribly terribly tragic!
