OMG mom made me cry togday.. also question/comment included!!!

FIrst of all, I just wanted to thank all of your girls,for everything.. It is really tough here without any females to chat with, and you all have made this planning, so MUCH FUN!!!! also, thank you for allof your advice and concern regarding my dicky dad issue..

Today, I called my mom, and she asked me how things went with my dad, I told her he was being an a$$ and she said not to worry about it.. But then, I got upset, because if my dad isn't going to be there, then am I jsut supposed to eliminate the 'father daughter dance' out of our wedding? and my mom said no, my step dad would be honored.. but the walking down the aisle situation is still not good, because my mom 'mentioned' it to my step-dad and he said that he doesn't know if it's appropriate for him to walk me down the aisle because my dad is still alive? but my dad won't be there, so It is appropriate right?? anyway.. my mom, said dont' worry about it because 'I want to walk you down the aisle' we've been through everything together, why wouldn't we go through this together'??

AWWW!!!!!!!!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!! She has been so excited for me, and helpful, and she is my best friend.. I just wanted to tell you all that.. so it looks like me and mom are walking down the aisle together.. how does that sound?????????

I think it sounds great! My mom also will be walking me down the aisle. But that is b/c my dadis passed away. I could have had my brothers do it but my mom has been through alot and I want to honor her in that way.

I'm glad everything is working out better for you!!! Your mom sounds amazing, and I'm glad she is being so supportive of you! Don't let the other stuff with your Dad get in the way of your beautiful wedding day.

I think its perfectly fine for your mom to walk you down the aisle. When my brother and his wife got married, my sis-in-laws mom walked her down the aisle (her Dad was out of her life since she was a baby..) She wouldn't have it any other way, since her Mom was #1 in raising her and a brother or uncle couldn't compare, in her opinion.

i am glad to hear you have a great mom like that!!!! my mom is not that easy going! my step dad is walking me down! but if you want your step dad to walk maybe the both of them can do it!

Yes its appropriate for your step-dad to fill in. There is nothing at all wrong with it.

I think that sounds great that your mom is waking you down the isle! If your step dad wanted to walk you down too then that would cetainly be appropriate too since your dad isnt going to be there!

i think it would be perfect if you walked with your mother and danced with your step-dad
it's all about who is important to you and who you want to honor on that day......not what someone's title is!!!

Awww how sweet!
My father is also not coming to my wedding or my sisters wedding. My mom is walking my sister down the aisle. My grandfather is walking me. I think having your mom walk you down is a wonderful idea!

That sounds great!! I thought about asking my mom to walk with my dad and I or 1/2 way down the aisle w/ me. My mom is my best friend also.

awww, sounds wonderful.. i was going to say if you had a brother, that would be another option to walk with you, but your mother sounds perfect!

I had posted earlier on a similar situation. I can't tell you how happy I am for you because that is so beautiful and you are going to be the happiest bride!!! Good for you!!! And your dad is a smart man. My grandpa said the same thing, too. For me, it turns out my mom and my dad will do it together but there was no way that my mom was sneaking out of this one. she's shy. Tell your mom she totally rocks and is completely admirable!

She walked my sister's down the aisle at their weddings too.....

Hooray for our Mom's!!!
