OMG SUCKS NOT TO HAVE FRIENDS! BP Problems AGAIN!!!

Veronica, dont worry about the BP it is not what make your day.. and that is one of the last concerns... Dont let it stress you out... I have 250 coming to my wedding and so many close friends and i chose to NOT have a bridal party...

I know its been your dreams, so its easier said than done, but dont stress over something you can't control... You have to enjoy your wedding and the planning... liek some else previously said, its better that those fake friend left... imagine you haveing to look at your pictures for the rest of your life seeing your bridal party and knowing they are NOT your friends.

Vero, when I was married years ago, I had 3 bridesmaids and a MOH. Well...let me tell you, this was BAD! We all ended up fighting and I fired them lol.

BPs are drama filled.

Anthony and I had a talk and decided rather than dealing w asking people etc, we'll have the 2 most important people in our lives w us. That's my best friend Linda and his little brother. NO one gets upset for not ebing asked, there's no worries about fittings and gifts and there's no stress.

BPs are getting smaller. There's no rules saying you have to have a matching BP in each side. Hell, I know someone who had no one up there but each other and it was a wonderful wedding. NO one thought anything of it.

In the end, it's you and your FH getting married. A MOH or BM aren't tying the know and have nothing to do with your marriage.

If I were you, I;d just have you and your FH and that's it. Don't worry about pics etc. Who cares? You're only looking at yourselves anyway. :)

i understand you had a 'vision' and want a big bridal party... but for now FOCUS on the most important thing!!! you are marrying your very best friend and are becoming one!!!!!! Love you girl keep your head up!!!!!!!

ITA. Also, didnt you say you go dancing too though? At that Salsa place? If you have the time dancing is a great place to make friends! We've been involved in the local swing dancing scene (upstate) for years and its such a social atmosphere. A bunch of them will be invited to our wedding. I know its tough with your schedules, but if its really important to you maybe you can squeeze in a couple of hours one night a week, and while youre there do your best to meet the other couples.

I do agree with everyone who said not to worry about it too and that its about you two, but if this is really important to you thats my 2 cents on what could work. Youve still got plenty of time. Try not to let this bring you down

I've gone through feeling like we didnt have any friends either, especially after everyone got so spread out after high school and college. You have each other though and if its important to you to make more friends then you will!

awwwwwwww dont worry veronica You still have time to make friends and its ok if you only have 2 couples in your picutres you will save a ton of money .. the people that were lying in your face and acting like your friend are not really your friends anyway and thats not the type of people that you would want to stand behind you at the alter.. sometimes friends are over rated and do more damage than anything else...In these times you have to be very careful of who you let into your life so although its a little lonely its sometimes better to have less 'friends'. keep it simple and know that the ones that are standing there for you are really truely your friends and will be there for you no matter what. you dont want peope that are going to stress you out because planning the wedding is enough stress in itself...... and who knows maybe you will make a new bff here lol

I don't know if you saw it but rent 'I LOVE YOU MAN'... it's very funny, all about this guy who never had any friends, always put all his time & effort into his girlfriends and work. It's definitely not impossible to make friends!!! You say you work, and that you have coworkers. I would suggest start hanging out with them.... outside of work. I know time is limited (I've been doing fulltime work, fulltime school, often working overtime), but you need to create a live/work balance, and that includes developing relationships outside of the soon to be marriage. Try going out for lunch instead of eating in the office, grabbing a bite to eat after work, then through that you will find interests you have in common - music, certain movies, etc. And then you can start doing those! I know it's tough, and I know (trust me, I know) you don't want to put yourself out there 'just to be burned again' but you wont make friends if you don't put yourself out there!

but just so you know just one other couple doesnt look bad.

my FSIL had only one MOH and a BM -

her wedding was big and expensive but she thought about who she cared about- and she had friends, but she thought only her BF was worth standing with her on her big day. and he FH had his BF be the BM.


my wedding I have only 4 girls and my FH has HIS FATHER being the BM!!

my FH lost a lot of friends - and didn't know who he was gonna pick. HE EVEN CRIED TO ME saying the same thing 'I dont have friends '

so he said 'can i ask my father?' I said 'if it makes you happy, then yes! '


honey it will be ok - i know it hurts TRUST ME I KNOW
but your wedding will be amazing cause you are making the love of your life your husband!

stick to thinking about that and it will make your day brighter!

To go into something like wedding planning with such a concrete vision of something that is SO volatile is not a good idea. We have to keep what we dream in mind, of course. But certain things can't be helped and its important to know that while planning.

There are things we want that we just can't afford.

There are certain ways we hoped people who act and respond, but they completely dissapointed us.

There are certain things I had in my head that I was SO certain of, that are just not going to happen becasue of money, timing, family, season...all that stuff. And- it can't be helped.

We have to remember that while we are thinking about pictures and colors and dresses and bp's, we are not a stylist for a wedding photo shoot- we are planning the most important day of our lives. And while there are certain things we want for that day, there are only 2 things that ACTUALLY matter...you and your FH. everything else is an accessory. You are telling the world publically what you and your FH have already decided within your own hearts. So - yeah- maybe you want a lot of people up there with you. But the only person who will ACTUALLY be up there with you- in mind and in heart, is him. thats all that matters.

Vero don't over think this.

Really..take a step back and think. What's important to me? Having traditional, even # of people in your pictures? OR....marrying your best friend?

In the end the wedding means NOTHING. Trust me, it's a nice memory but remember this is a marriage. The wedding is just a party.

YOU'RE WELCOME!! I just know how easy it is to get lost in the planning...because up until the day of, yeah, you are planning a party!!! lol but, there is just SO much more to it. and the more you hold on tightly to those things, the easier everything else is.

I hate this!!!!!
When I was a little girl I imagine a Big elegant wedding....
When i was a teenager, I Imagne my BP to be BIG becuase I thought I had so many friends...
When i was in College, I started to wonder if I woudl get myy BP as big as I though but i figure with 3 woud be good...
NOW, THAT I AM ENGAGED I AM EXTREMELY MAD SAD STRESS HURT THAT NOTHING OF MY BP WILL BE LIKE I EXPECTED/THOUGHT!!!!!!!!!!

We DONT HAVE FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHO THE FKC WILL BE IN OUR BRIDAL PARTY???

Since 2 of my XBFF are gone... i figure I only have my MOH and will get a BM later on....
My FH has a BM since his GM left him waitin on the party n never show up....
Now, NOT EVEN HIM CAN DO THE JOB OF BM!!!!!!


THIS SUCKS!!!

I know Most of you would say
1) Well Tell him just to get another friend to do that... Well, he doesnt has friends!!!! Since he came to the USA he has been working n working a lot!!! Never had 'time' to have a Social Life... Now he is LEFT with NO ONE!!!! and I feel so bad and mad!!!!
2) Well you can just have One MOH & One BM... and I DONT WANT THAT!!! I dont want to be the ONE couple ONLY... I wanted TWO at lest and I DONT WANT TO SETTLE FOR ONE...
