Once and for all..

Re: Once and for all..

You make a good point Shamma- it is true that a lot of people do not feel they can disagree with T or others for fear of getting flamed, yelled at or dismissed for thinking/saying differently than they do.

Just a thought.

Re: Once and for all..

I am glad that Baithing suits offend you but when others talk about sexual acts or about sex parties and toys that is ok..

Its always about who said what..

What is good for the goose should be good for the gander..

But it seems that some people can talk about SEX acts and it is fine and not upsetting but a baiting suit post isn't...

Ironic!

Re: Once and for all..

I absolutely agree that EVERY girl on this site should be able to have their say....unedited and without criticism...

With that said, I also have to say that last week (or whenever it was) there was quite a lengthy post about sex toys and lingerie that was MUCH MORE risque than those bathing suits and no one seemed to think that was inappropraite???

Why is that?

I find both of those posts neither amusing or offensive, just girls talking about what girls talk about...

WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL????

Can't we all be friends?

Re: Once and for all..

Sage we cannot all be friends, that would be unrealistic but we can all be respectful!!! of each other's opinion.

Re: Once and for all..

You're right, T. Touche.

The bathing suits actually don't offend me at all. I just thought those particular ones were ugly. I suppose I should have clarified that by inappropriate venue I meant like a PLACE - beach, picnic, walking down the street, anywhere other than a beach in Rio or in my bedroom...I didn't mean posted ON THIS SITE. I'm still not sure why LIW took them down.

And yes, we can all be friends - I thought most of us were? Don't friends argue and disagree? I know me and mine do....

And PS- One thing none of us EVER talk about on this site (thankfully) is sex acts with our DHs and FHs. Ever notice that?

Re: Once and for all..

Ok, then.....my point wasn't to 'all be friends' in the literal sense.....
All I was getting at was can't we all at least get along and understand that not everyone HAS to agree.....

Re: Once and for all..

Sage I know what you meant, I was not taking it literal at all I guess that request is unrealistic too. We will not all always get along, but there should always be the level of respect where we all agree to disagree w/o there being bashing etc, etc.

Friends in real life, do have disagreements but we do not abuse them to the point where they are no longer our friends or so afraid to speak to us for fear of verbal abuse. We should treat each other the way we would want to be treated. It takes respect.

Re: Once and for all..

Shamma - I totally agree with you....100% and no one should ever feel afraid to post their opinions....EVER!!
that is why I said in my original post that
'every girl on this site should be able to have their say, unedited and without criticism'

I think we are in agreement about that....

and I am a realist, I know not everyone will get along all the time....I was just trying to make a little peace here.....

this post is no reason for ANYONE to get 'flamed' or receive any type of 'bashing' from anyone....

Re: Once and for all..

Ok...
The bathing suit thread and the one detailing explict acts were both removed.
When I went to the LIW office this past weekend-I was told that Ron had to ban his own daughter from visiting this site. This site doesn't require a log in to read the posts and honestly, there are young kids looking at these posts.
I know when I was a little kid, I dreamed of my wedding and would go to the library to look at wedding magazines. Now they we have the internet, things are accessible and children do look at this stuff.
Perhaps a little discretion should be used when posting??

Re: Once and for all..

its a bathing suit...her privates were covered.

Does anyone watch the E true hollywood story that is on Sundays as a marathon and everynight at 8. Well one night they had Ginger Lynn on. SHe is a PORNO star and they posted pics of her but her privates were covered. does that make it wrong to be aired?

its legal to go topless on the beaches in NY state. Would I bring a 5 yrd old to that, no I wouldnt. But its legal to do.

So maybe the bathing suits were a little risque, but we all had a laugh, a good time and for a brief moment was there wedding stress, was there a concern about money, was there a concern about getting bills paid, no. for 5 minutes we looked at the bathing suits and laughed. maybe made a few comments about them but we laughed

Isnt what this place is about. A place we can all vent if we have too, a place where we can ask about vendors, a place we brides can be just that BRIDES. Well after a while how much more wedding stuff can we take. Our lives arent our weddings. We need to step away from wedding talk for a little.

So bathing suits were posted, big deal. her stuff was covered and we all got a laugh from it.
