One more reception question

Re: One more reception question

I called a lot of places over the phone. Most would not do a wedding of 100 or less so that elminiated many of them.

I visited 3 (?)... Swan Club, Watermill, Westbury Manor.

Re: One more reception question

We went to two, booked the second! Once we got to majestic we just knew it was exactly what we were looking for and to go no further.

Besides, I had checked a lot of vendors here first. So I had an idea of what to expect when I got there.

Re: One more reception question

I did a lot of research via the web, LIW and the phone. I was able to narrow it down to 4-5 places just because those were the only places that would allow us a low minumum on a Sat night and still had the main thing we were looking for (great food)

We went to 9 places...I drove my FI crazy!

Go to as many as you need to. A good resource is LI Sites and Services....its a website but you can also buy the magazine in CVS or get it for free at Fortunoff in the Registry department. It lists prices too (approximate).

Good LUck

Re: One more reception question

I looked at 3, and really didn't want to settle, but I had to go back to Virginia, and my dad picked Chateau La Mer, and booked it without me seeing it, and its absolutely perfect, everything I wanted!

I only looked at 2. I fell in lov with the first one!

I really narrowed it down though with LIW and the weddng sites and services magazine I went through several time crossing it ones that were 1) too expensive 2) too far away 3) too big or too small 4) had more than one wedding 5) looked unappealing to me

and I had a short list VERY quickly. One unday brides were posting NRC pics and I liked hem and we werent doing anything so I made an appointment and went that day!

Re: One more reception question

We saw 6 and booked the third one. We knew it was the one because every one we saw after it, we felt like we were cheating on it looking at another hall.
