Only 7 days for rsvp due date...

we were missing like 50 or 60 by our rsvp date. we got a ton of those this week (our rsvp date was sept. 1). I'm making the call list today.

It's really not a big deal - people forget, they get lost in the mail, etc. wait a week and then make your calls.

And if you're a week out and you're only missing 30, you shouldn't have much of a problem in a couple of weeks. You'll be fine!

Okay....I got 8 replies in the last 2 days. Tomorrow is the deadline. I had also forgotten that FH had handed out a few invites so some of his guests not on my list. Not really a problem...Just confusing.

I agree that it's normal, but you don't have to wait until a week after the RSVP date to call (or have your parents / FILs call). The date was not a suggestion - it was the date by which you needed a response. Just call and politely ask if you can have their response. If you must, explain that you need to finalize the plans and need a final head count ASAP. Failing to RSVP is terribly rude and annoying. Unfortunately, sometimes life gets in the way and people forget. There is nothing wrong with calling a day or two after the RSVP date to ask for a response.

Good luck. It happens to almost all of us. More than half of our RSVPs were outstanding on our RSVP date - and we really needed a headcount on that date!

You'll get the majority of them the day before, day of and day after the RSVP date!

People always wait for the last minute!
