Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

I'm unsure if I should wear open-toe or closed-toe shoes on my wedding day. My bridal consultant says that I should definetly wear closed-toe, and my mom agrees, because it's more formal. However, my wedding is in June, and I was thinking open-toe.

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

i am having a really formal wedding and a very formal dress - i am wearing sandals - if i wore closed toe i would have to at least wear thigh highes and i don't want to wear stockings of any kind

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

You have to wear what will make you the most comfortable. You can't listen to everyone when it comes to YOUR comfort. I'm wearing closed-toe because I don't mind stockings.

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

My opinion...open-toe. Its June and SUMMER!
Im all about keeping the toes out for the summer. Also, you dont see you shoes considering your dress is big and poofy!
right?

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

I think it depends on your dress. For example, my dress has a lot going on at the bottom, so I will definitely wear closed-toe; I just think that in addition to the lace, etc., to also have my toes sticking out would look weird.

Maybe post a pic of your dress to help people decide?

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

My dress is semi-poofy. The shoes will barely show. I am going to wear stockings, because I am most comfortable wearing them. I know I will be getting a pedicure beforehand, and I was thinking a closed-toe shoe would ruin that, but can I wear stockings with an open- toe shoe?

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

They have stocking with the toes open. I'm having the same problem, I want to wear open toes, but I want the pretty sexy stocking which I'll have to wear with a closed toe. Plus my mom will never let me get away with not wearing stocking.

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

I bought open toed shoes, I don't know if I'm going to wear stockings..I think you just need to get what you feel most comfortable in.

When you go shopping, look at both, its kind of like the dress, when you find the right ones you will know.

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

Open toed. Im getting married in Nov and wear open toed because I'm more comfortable in them. Your feet will swell being on the all day and you'll be hot from dancing...you might want to let your feet breathe a little.

You can buy stockings that only come to your ankle if you want. My friend suggested that to me. I dont know if I'll do that or not, I'm worried about my slip being really itchy on my legs!

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

It really depends on your dress. I like open toed shoes better, but had a lot of detail on the bottom of my dress and so it looked better with closed toe shoes. What does your dress look like?

I'm getting married in November, but I'm still wearing open toe. They are just more comfy to me.

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

I'm wearing closed toe. It's a quirk, but I personally hate the look of sandals with stockings. Also, I find that shoes don't rub as much with stockings and if your feet do swell a little, it's less friction!

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

i am so glad you posted this question...it been a growing issue for me because i am almost ready to go get shoes...i'm thinking open toed but like you want to be classic. i think stockings would just make me hot. so i think i'll go open and lower heel. i'm worried my feet will sweat though...yuck! anything out there that helps with that?

Re: Open Toe Or Closed Toe???

Your wedding is on June 1--I would definitely wear open toed---they have very pretty shoes that are open toed that will happen to look very pretty with your gown!!!

IMO, no stockings w/ open toes please---in that case you'd probably be better off wearing a closed toe then...

Yup--Gold Bond foot powder (blue bottle)--and you will be all in white anyway so you wont even have to worry about it getting all over you
