Out of Town Bride/Shower

I am planning a shower for my SIL. She is getting married out of state and is flying in for her 'NY' shower since her family is here. Although we are only talking about 20 poeple I am concerned about her getting her gifts home. We can ship them, extra suitcases etc..but has anyone ever been to or planned something unique for this type of situation. I have thought about trying to taylor the shower to say bed and bath type stuff since we wouldn't have to worry about things breaking when shipping, but the couple is living together and have all that type of stuff. Any ideas would be great.
