You could get her something maybe not off her registry like something personalized.. A channa plaque or hanger with her new last name if she doesn't have one already. That way she won't know how much you spent and you can keep it to how much you can afford.

I went to a shower last year during a time when I couldn’t afford an expensive gift. I put together a basket with a bunch of small kitchen items from her registry along with monogrammed dish towels. Sometimes it really is the thought and effort you put into a gift that counts :)
