Hi Ladies, I wanted to start this thread because although we are all in the same 'wedding planning process', Interfaith marriages are different. I wanted to start a thread where we can come for support and suggestions. Marriage is hard enough without adding different religions to the mix. I am head over heels in love with my FI but I see a few obstacle ahead of us. Ex. Children. I am Catholic and his family (not really he is) Penetcostal. How are you ladies dealing with this issue?? We have decided to raise them in both. Our ceremony will take place with a pastor and a priest. How about you??

Re: Paging all Interfaith Brides....
we are interfaith... i am catholic, he is jewish.. we are getting married in a civil ceremony in italy (MUCH nicer than a city hall thing in the USA!). we chose this more for italy, not about religion.. but either way our ceremony would not have been very religious. not sure about kids yet!

Re: Paging all Interfaith Brides....
I am Jewish and he is Protestant so we are getting married by a Judge. We have already decided our children are going to be raised in his religion since he was raised more religious than I. I will make sure our children know and learn of the Jewish faith, even though they aren't going to be raised Jewish.

Re: Paging all Interfaith Brides....
Fabulous thread. I can't believe there are so many of us interfaith couples out there. I am Catholic and my FI is Jewish. I am trying to plan for both a rabbi and a priest. We are going to be getting married in the reception hall and hopefully I will be able to find people that are willing to work with me and each other. It seems like there are more and more officiants willing to do an interfaith wedding than ever before.
