Patken, Proline and Duet girls...I need your help.

Patken, Proline and Duet girls...I need your help.

FH and I met with a photog yesterday (not Patken, Proline or Duet) and we were impressed with everything EXCEPT for the fact that they wouldn't give us a price for a package in the meeting - they said that they would e-mail it to us.

Needless to say, we walked out of there excited, only to receive an e-mail this morning with a price LITERALLY double of what we want to spend on photography. It's not even a price that we could negotiate down to about what we can afford to spend. And while our photog budget isn't huge, it certainly isn't small, either. (We got a quote from another reputable photog company that was much more along the lines of what we were looking to spend, but FH wasn't 100% feelin' them and wants to search around a little bit more)

So before we book meetings with the above places - Patken, Proline and Duet - I'd like to know if anyone would be kind enough to share with FH and I what kind of price quotes they've received. We're looking for something basic - our album, parents' albums (possibly...I am crafty enough to dedicate time to get a pro one made from another website), thank you cards. No video. (Seriously, the quote this place gave us is more than other places have advertised for photo AND video...and this quote was only for photo! Geez!!!)

Obviously, please FM me.

Also, if anyone else can recommend a place to look that's a company and not an individual, please let us know. (We're too nervous about booking an individual in case they have, say, a family emergency or something...it's a lil too risky in FH's opinion, and that's fine by me)

TIA ladies...this will help us narrow things down easily. FH just sent a shout-out 'thank you!' from the couch

to save money dont even consider parents albums - those will drive up the price - you can easily make them photobooks on shutterfly

Thanks, Rita. Our budget is more along the lines of $3 - $3.5K ...obviously we'd prefer less. But this place quoted us almost $6K! Geeeez.

FH has just been convinced about the DIY photo albums, hee hee.

We met with all 3 and Patken was the most expensive for what we wanted. Proline was more expensive than Duet but we decided to go with them because we felt very comfortable with them. We got photo/video from them but they threw in a lot of things for us also. I will FM you the different packages they offer when I get home tonight.

I agree. We booked ProLine and they threw in quite a bit for us and really worked with us as far as a budget. I felt the same way as far as parent albums. We can always add them on later or with all the proofs we will have, I can make up something really nice in a photobook for my parents! Def give ProLine a call!

All of those places are within your budget (not sure of Duet w/o video though) You can also try 12th night they only do photo..they req someone for video.

There are not far from Queens at all (if you drive)

3500 + tax for photo and video no parent albums.... Patken.

With Patken we're paying $4050 for:

Video
Our album with 30 pictures
One Parent Album
Images all on a CD
90 Thank you notes
Several wall portraits (I forgot the sizes)

Video was $1500 so if you're interested in just photography you can subtract that out to get an idea. Also the parent album I picked was $300 so if I chose not to do the parent album it would have been $3750.
