You are all so helpful, so I just wanted to see if anyone was having problems with -- who is paying for what for the wedding?
When we originally started planning, my dad agreed to pay for everything, but now, with the economy the way it is, he is not so interested (putting it lightly :) in paying for all the vendors. He also put it out there why FHs family has not offered to pay for anything.
I'm just curious if anyone is going through/went through the same thing.
Is anyone FH's family paying for vendors or anything??
Thanks

Re: Paying for the wedding
First let me say you are very lucky to be having someone help you, FH and I are paying for our wedding ourselves . FH's mother did offer to pay for the DJ which was such a huge weight off of our shoulders but now we are stuck in the weird position of having to ask for the money so I feel your pain

Re: Paying for the wedding
FH and I are paying for all the vendors ... his parents (divorced) offered to pay for their guests at the reception. My mom bought my dress and they also renovated an apt in the house for us to live in after the wedding, so we werent expecting anything else from them. That was alot of money already.

Re: Paying for the wedding
My parents and I are paying for the wedding. Fh is paying for a little bit of the wedding. Fh's Mom is paying for the honeymoon and that is it. It all depends on what people feel like doing for you. My parents have gone above and beyond for fh and I and I am very grateful for it.

Re: Paying for the wedding
This is why FH & I are paying for it ourselves. Plus that we are older & wouldnt expect at this point in our lives for any parents to pay. Even though both parents offered. We are paying all vendors & everythign ourselves.
My mother (parents) arethrowing teh Bridal shower.
My FIL's are throwing the rehearsal dinner. Thats it. Its also better that waybecausethen things can be your way not the way of everyone who is throwing money in.
Good Luck

Re: Paying for the wedding
My parents are paying for most of the wedding. FH's parents are giving us a very generous gift that we can/may use towards the wedding. We are paying for certain things ourselves. I'm buying the bridesmaid's dresses which is like $1,900. My godmother bought me my dress. So it's kinda coming from all over haha, with my parents paying for like 80%.

Re: Paying for the wedding
My parents are paying for the RH, shower, and my dress...and my FIL's are paying for all the vendors (florist, limo, DJ, Photog & video) and they are also paying for the rehearsal dinner.. We got really lucky and are very grateful that our parents are doing this for us.. we just bought a house so we wouldnt be able to afford a wedding at this time without them.

FH and I are paying for everything. We are getting small help here and there, but for the most part FH and I are taking care of the majority of the bill.

Re: Paying for the wedding
FH & I are paying for most of the wedding...parents are helping here and there...but its mainly on us by choice. For example my parents are paying for my whole attire, gown, shoes, tiara, veil, DOJ, etc...and FH gave us a very generous check for our E-party.
