PC vs. MAC

I have both a PC and a MAC...
My opinion...stick to the PC, the only reason FH and I have a MAC is for certain programs he uses it for, music programs really, and all are pics are uploaded into there,

but other than that, i dont have a reason to use it, unless FH is on the pC and i need the internet too, I'll get on the MAC.

1. Microsoft has stopped supporting Internet Explorer for Mac, which I think means that Mac users will turn more and more to Safari, Apple's internet browser, and not all websites work well with Safari.

2. Not all software is Mac-compatible. You can purchase an emulator, like Virtual PC (although I want to say that they've gone out of business?), but it can be sloooooow.

I still love my Mac, though. Would never get a PC.

Hey there.. I just wante to butt my MACnewbie 2 cents in for one more minute....
I started out using IE, and I hated it....it was the worst part about my mac. Since using Safari, I am actually getting more interaction with wesites I previously could not use (like the LSAC website).


As far as software compatibility is concerned, there are more & more softwares available for MAC everyday....even games. (Previously it was not considered a 'gaming computer' like alienware...)

Generally it is still a graphic and editing system, but it seems to be becoming more suitable for the expanded market with every new edition....

I could afford a MAC over a PC but I couldn't afford a NYU MBA over a Baruch MBA

Since there are so many mac users here can someone please tell me how to post pics from my imac. I have all my pics in iPhoto and they are all in JPG format but I cannot figure out how to post them and it is driving me nuts everytume i try all i get is a box with a red x in it .

This is correct! I have worked on both and while most graphic designers prefer MACs there are infinite reasons for choosing a PC. You can argue this all day.

this site doesn't support them...you have to upload thn to shutterfly or ofoto & then put it in the body as a 'web image'

Oh... and for you MAC heads that didn't know... OS10 for the MAC is actually a UNIX operating system. Its based off the Unix platform. If you open the Terminal program... you get a unix command prompt and can enter unix commands there. (Don't do this unless you know what you are doing).

I bet most of you here didn't even know that.

Just because we are 'MAC heads' doesn't mean we don't know how the computer we are using runs.

You obviously know alot about computers, since it is your field, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Let her decide on her own which kind of computer she wants to buy. Are you going to go to her house and fix her PC for her everytime it goes down or gets a really crappy virus????e

Dell's customer service sucks bad. They outsource it to India. But again... doing this keeps their prices dirt cheap.
