Ok...so I've met with 3 photographers so far...all of various price ranges...I'm not thrilled with any so far. We always wind up meeting with the owner or a salesperson. My question is....is there a photographer out there who we would meet with the first time? It just seems like a hassle to meet with a 'photographer' and get there and have someone else talking to you about prices. I am meeting a photographer because I want to see his vision for my wedding and see if we gel. What's also very frustrating is that they keep telling us because we have a small wedding we only need 1 photographer. Two out of the three photographers we met with were the owners, and they would not shoot our wedding because they only shoot 'When you need 2 photographers'. It's like the reception halls all over again. Like we are not good enough for the owner since we have a small wedding. I'm starting to get frustrated. Have any of you gals with under 100 guests had 1 photographer? How has it turned out? Did you pay more for a 2nd photographer? Any advice? Sorry for the vent......

Re: Photographers...
I fail to see how the # of guests impacts your decision to have 1 or 2 photographers. I see it on here all the time, but I personally don't see the connection at all. The # of guests at the wedding didn't matter b/c we're not having pictures of every single guest taken...
I had 2 photographers b/c I wanted pics of both of us getting ready and wanted to do some family portraits, etc. before the ceremony. I also had one very photojournalistic photographer and one more traditional.
Most people I know only had one photographer and had awesome pics! Look at the girls who had Angelica Glass -- most didn't have a second photographer, too, and their pics are great. Go with a photographer you trust, and you'll be just fine!!

I'm having a small wedding, only about 50-60 guests. I'm using Gary from Leli Photography, he's the owner. We are only have one photographer. He's really nice and laid back. We did our E-pics already and Gary was great to work with. He also sent me all the pictures in an email about an hour after we finished! Leli Photography

yeah i'm not sure if Lia (Imagine Studios) always works with an assistant or not but I know she did at my BIL's wedding and he had about 125. She shoots both traditional and photojournalistic. I think she's great and her packages are fairly reasonable....especially for what you're getting
Also try Peter Gray studios....my MOH used them and they were AMAZING!!!

I'm using Modern Wedding Photography. Denise is the owner and the photographer. No sales people, no additional photographers. She's really good—gorgeous photojournalistic albums. Check AMJA's review for examples .
ETA: Hmm...just read the whole post (should've done that the first time). It's her and assistant. So if you're looking for multiple photographers than she might not be right for you. though in the albums I've seen, it looks like she manages to get every moment.

when going to a photography company i guess you have to deal with that first...Try independent photographers who its only them so you meet with them and they really go over everything with you, here are a few

Re: Photographers...
Yesterday I visited Franklin Square Photographers which is co-owned by 2 brothers, and they are also the same people who shoot weddings. So, you'll be meeting with the owner and photographer. I really liked their work, but it was a bit outside my budget, but you may like it because they do only 2 photographers.

Re: Photographers...
Did you meet 12th Night? Dom is the owner but all the work you see in the studio has the other photographers names on it so you know their work. Very reasonable prices too.

Re: Photographers...
I met with a ton of photographers (meaning the photographers themselves) and the ones that impressed me the most, that I'm sure would shoot your wedding, are:
Imagine Studios North Island Photography Artisan Visual Concepts
I do not see a connection b/w the # of guests and the # of photographers. A talented photographer will catch it all. I'm having over 300 people and 1 photographer and I'm not worried about it at all.

I used George from Right Angle and I met with him personally. He didnt push a second photographer on me-I WANTED a second one. His prices are pretty good compared to most. My budget wasnt excessive but it wasnt small either.

Re: Photographers...
I would def call Mariann at Blue Daisy Weddings. Here's our slideshow so you can see her style. We had a smaller wedding (110 ppl) and she was perfect. My fave vendor by far.
She generally works alone but she has a 2nd photog, Amy, if you want her. There is a bride here who got married at Old Field Club recently with with like 60 ppl who has Mariann so I know she does small weddings.
My photographer is not an LIW vendor, but his work is really beautiful and you will absolutely only meet with him. His prices are reasonable - if you want photojournalism style photography I highly recommend him. He has won awards, too. Just google Agaton Strom...HTH
