I was just wondering how many people are taking pictures with FH before or after the ceremony? I am torn on what to do. In one respect I want him to see me for the first time walking down the aisle, but then I think it might be easier to take pictures beforehand. I don't know!!!

We are taking pics before the ceremony because we want to be at our cocktail hour. However, our photographer and I discussed arranging a special time alone where we can see each other for the first time...That way it is still special despite breaking the tradition.
Go with what will make you happy!
same with us as well! AG showed us pics of a groom seeing the bride for the first time before the ceremony and the pics she captured were beautiful!

Wow thanks for all the responses! I'm getting married at the RH so maybe taking them beforehand is a good idea. That would give us more time to take pictues too. Thanks again!!!

My ceremony is at RH so we will be doing pics before so we can also enjoy some of the cocktail hour.

Re: Pictures before or after ceremony?
we're doing it after. FH is soooo excited to see me for the first time as i'm walking toward him down the aisle that I can't take that moment from him. We have an 1 1/2 to 2 hour block between the ceremony and reception so we should be ok, especially as we are doing more candid/photojournalistic pics than posed ones.

Re: Pictures before or after ceremony?
We are doing ours after. I went to a wedding where they did the pictures before and I was sooooooooooo upset that they saw each other before hand...Thats the 1st time i have ever even heard of that.
I guess its a personal preference.

We took our pictures after the ceremony. We had plenty of time between the mass and the reception. I'm glad we did it that way. But I think if you're having your ceremony at the hall with cocktail hour beginning right after, it's a good idea to do pics before so you won't miss your CH.

I felt the same way as you. I wanted the first time he saw me to be when I walked down the aisle. But FH and photographer convinced me to see him before hand.... I want to enjoy my wedding. I don't want to be stuck missing CH taking pics. If I was getting married in a church and had that gap, then fine but I'm getting married at the RH and there is no time gap.

We are doing after. I'm not traditional in a lot of aspects but both of us agree we don't want to see each other until I walk down the aisle

Re: Pictures before or after ceremony?
Hi Hall Twin!! You'll be getting married there a week before me!!
We're taking pics before the ceremony. Our photographer is going to set up a special 'posed candid' moment where FH and I see each other for the first time. I didn't want to miss the CH either, considering we missed it at my sister's wedding a few years ago, stuck in the bridal suite, not knowing which part of the family was slated to take pics and where. It was chaotic.
I'm a romantic and love the idea of him seeing me for the first time walking down the aisle.... that commercial for Men's Warehouse 'when all eyes will be on her, she'll be looking at you' gets me sobbing!!! But since our CH is right after our ceremony, it wouldn't work. Plus I have a photography background too, I know how long it can take to set up everyone for pics, and I'm very particular about the photos coming out perfect. Also, doing pics before means that makeup, hair, and all of that will be fresh. And as others here have said, we'll be relaxed, keeping each other calm. When I'm stressed, all I do is look at FH and he calms me down!
