Pigs in a blanket

So my sister just made the menu for my nephew's Bar Mitzvah and the caterer, my nephew and my BIL had to convince her to have pigs in a blanket on the adult side of the cocktail hour. It killed her to do that. So I told her people like them. So who cares they are hot dogs. Id much rather have one of those than have bruschetta or a mini lamb chop (though I am having those two but thats besides the point). Who is with me on this???

Right there with you. My mother will in all likelihood have a heart attack when she sees them at my CH, but we love them, and so do most people.

I love them. My hall doesn't offer them on the menu, but we asked, and we were told that so many people request them that it wouldnt be a problem to have them!! We were so happy to hear that!!

If shes anything like my sister she is refusing them because they look as if they could come out of a box in your grocer's freezer. No, they don't LOOK elegant at all. But anything in a 'puff pastry' also comes out of a freezer as does much of what is being served as horderves (sp) at our cocktail hours with the exception of fresh veggies and other things.

ohhh I totally agree- it just wasnt that important to me or fh so we let this one go

I went to a wedding last weekend at the Bourne Mansion..There was NO PIGGIES! I was so upset. I am not into all that seafood and asparagus. I asked the waitress and she told me no piggies. I was so hungry by the time I sat at the table. I am also a brat and very picky!

Would she not have a candy bar on the adult side as well? Seriously, everyone LOVES that stuff!

I went to a recent wedding where they had a full candy bar, and let me tell you that grown adults were sprinting when they opened the doors. Bring on the weiners I say!

My FH wants White Castle Burgers passed around during Cocktail... I don't know if they would do that?? I also think it looks a little G-H-E-T-T-O!!!!

soooo true. any wedding or event i've been to with the lil' piggies, the adults FLOCK to them! they're a classic.

my FH practically demanded that we have PIB's at our wedding...plus there are going to be a lot of kids there so it makes sense for us to have some kid-friendly food there..
