Soooo I decided to update some vaccinations before our honeymoon as the CDC 'suggests' it, but it isn't highly recommended. Also my doctor suggested to before we try for a baby. Anywho...so I go yesterday and get a booster of tetanus, pertussis (sp?) and diptheria and the dr. convinces me to get my first flu shot since we'll be on lots of planes for our wedding and honeymoon. All went well until this morning... OH MY GOD!! Vomiting, diarhea (TMI sorry!), chills, fever...AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! My mommy had to come stay with me today as FI had a big day at work.
Note to self...never getting another flu shot again!! (Not even sure if it was from that or a combination of shots...)
Sorry...just wanted to give myself a pity party....

no on rare occassions the flu shot can give you the flu....especially is your immune system is weakened by stress, or if your period is coming....lots of vitamin C, fluids, and rest and you'll be all better soon!!!

I REFUSE to get a flu shot. Ever since I was 8 years old with severe asthmatic bronchitis, I was forced into flu shots by my allergy doc, and always ended up coughing my brains out for 2 weeks afterwards, my usual hacking allergy cough, complete with god-awful tasting liquid meds. Once I turned 14, I had enough. No more flu shots for me. I'm officially or unofficially allergic to them and I don't bother anymore.
Sometimes we know our own bodies better than anyone else. Feel better!!!

that really sux!! the doctor wanted to give me one this yr and with the wedding being 3.5 weeks away i opted not to. i dont think ive ever had one but i didnt want to chance it.
Rest, Rest and more rest. watch lots of funny/sappy movies, have your man serve you everything, lots of fluids and vitamins..and just relax!!!! i hope you feel better soon!!!

Sorry to hear that...i also got a mild case of the flu after getting a flu shot and i refuse to get it again or have my daughter get it...its ridiculous

So sorry to hear this. Prob a combination of the shots since the flu shot cant give you the flu. People say it does but thats b/c they are already sick or getting sick so they blame the shot. Get well!!!!

so sorry to hear that..... please feel better soon!!! i personally never had a flu shot and probably never will..... i am not anti vaccine but i think doctors have been swayed by the drug companies to push vaccines that are not completely safe and sometimes unnecessary. they really should look at each patient individually and then decide based on evidence and risk benefit ratio what is in the best interest of the patient.... JMO

I totally agree! And I never had one either, but my doctor made a good point, with all the planes we'll be on in the next few weeks and all those germs...eh...I fell for it! lol.

I am so sorry! I am also not a fan of the flu shot. My job offers it and they get mad if you don't get it but I hate it. I got it once and got so sick!!! Not fun!
